Implementor : Keane India., Hyderabad
Role : ETL Developer.

Duration : July 09 to Till date

Description:
Spartan is the largest retail in the market throughout the world. They are mainly
concentrating on world market so its invoice is based on shipment transaction. The
data mart analyzes sales fact table.
By analyzing sales, product with various combination and its gross profit which helps
to improve the quality and promotional aspect for each line of item. This gives the
management to implement various sales promotional techniques and decision
support to improve the market share.

Responsibilities:

• Understood the business requirements and implemented data transformation

methodologies

• Implemented Star Schema design methodology

• Designed the mappings to extract data from oracle and flat file sources and
load the data into the targets.

• Worked with various transformations in designing the mappings like

Aggregator, Expression, Update Strategy, Joiner, Lookup, Sequence generator
and Stored Procedure.

• Involved in Unit Testing the mappings

• Created Sessions, Workflows for the mappings
• Design the mapping with a Slowely Changing Dimension Type2 to keep track
of historical data.
• Created mapplet to achieve reusability in the data flow as per business logic.

• Improved session performance by dropping indexes pre loading the data into

Description:
J&R brings the best in electronics, computers and more directly to you, from a
company you can trust.
J&R is the electronic retailer in USA for consumer electronics, home office equipment,
entertainment software and appliances. It has under its fold, the following companies
Sun Coast, on-cue, Magnolia Hi-Fi, music land & future shop.

The objective of this project is to create retail data mart, which is to provide sales
information of the various products in Best buys. The retail data mart is targeted at
the marketing/finance users of J&R. Every day its OLTP data is brought into its huge
Data warehouse. This data is cleansed and summarized and projected to the senior
management using DSS warehousing, Supply chain management and supply chain
event management. Data marts are created and data is extracted from oracle -
RDBMS, through Informatica power center.
Team Co ordination and Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

•Implemented Data Warehousing-Star Schema Design.

• Developed mappings/sessions using Informatica Power Center for

data loading.
•Developed mappings to load the data in slowly changing dimensions using
type1 approach
•Modified the mappings with the schema changes, demanded by the changes
in application model.
•Involved in Unit Testing of mappings.

• Fine tuned the mappings, sessions to improve performance
