Introduction

Most of the time, when a person plays a video game, he does not even wonder how

everything works. He mocks and plays, he does not wonder how is it possible to see what

happens on the screen. We often talk about programmers who make video games and

write tons of codes to illustrate something but often forget to think of those who create

the wonderful and realistic environment that make the games enjoyable and beautiful to

see. It is thanks to game environment design artist that games has values. Like

"Uncharted", one of the best games on the market. The graphics of this game is

impeccable, and with the new technologies and more processing power, it's even better.

My work will be to create an environment most realistic as possible and also to make

people realise that a game is not just a game, it is the product of long hours of hard

working of a whole team. I will try to replicate the work of the game environment design

artists.

What will I learn

Throughout this capstone project, I will certainly learn a lot of things. Being a game

environment design artists requires a lot of skills and talents. I expect to:

 Build up patience, this kind of work requires it a lot, if something has to be

excellent, it cannot be done quickly.

 Develop my creativity, it takes plenty of creativity to be able to create a realistic

looking environment with all the details.

 Improve my critical thinking, to do this job, we need to be able to think like the

player to be able to get better result.

 See my strengths and weaknesses so I could work on them to make me better

My presentation

My capstone project presentation will be a video. The video will be a time-lapse about

how I made my environment, and I will also talk a bit about the different concept of game

environment designing. There will also be a 6 to 8 pages of research paper about this

project and a reflection of the capstone and myself.

My career

I chose this subject because that what I want to do as a job later. I think that it’s a great

opportunity for me to see if it’s really for me, and if I will be able to do it. I always had a

passion for computers, programming and technology, so this capstone project will help

me to explore that passion. Academically, it’s a good training for me, I’ve had animation

class before, and that’s where I learned how to model something. I aiming in that

direction for my future and I’m sure that I will have learned and acquired a lot more after

this project.

Organization

In order to be successful, I will need to be organized and to have everything figured

out before starting my project. I will need to make sure to be done in time with each part

of my schedule. So here is my timeline:
