The use of SHALL and DO stressing the fact that the action must be

performed. Note that sometimes SHALL is the translation of a


present tense in the TL, sometimes a future tense and in other cases a
periphrastic verb such as “se ha de…” or other expressions indicating
obligation. This is due to the fact that in English the use of SHALL in
contracts or other legal texts refers to an action that must be
performed rather than the mere expression of a future tense.
Likewise, the use of DO in positive sentences differs from its
emphatic use in standard English since it expresses obligation.
