**The pattern is written using the terms ‘larger’ and ‘smaller’ needles. For each size given (except the smallest size)
there are 2 sizes of needle given. Use the larger where stated in patt and smaller of these where stated in patt. For the
smallest size use the same needles throughout.

Boy Repeat 8th and 9th rows once more
1st row: P2, C4B, K1, C4F, P2 12th row: K2, P9, K2
2nd row: K2, P2, [K1, P1] twice, Trousers (work 2 pieces)
K1, P2, K2 Using smaller needles cast on
3rd row: P2, K3, P1, K1, P1, K3, Girl 24sts and work 7 rows in 2x2 rib.
P2 1st row: P4, yon, Sl 1, K1, psso,
Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows once more, K1, K2tog, yfrn, P4 Increase
then 2nd row again 2nd row: K4, P5, K4 P1 *Inc in next st purlways, rep

Change to larger needles and inc 1 st in centre of last row. (21 Work 4 rows straight keeping
working in st-st place pattern panel sts) Change to larger needles and panel correct as rem sts allow. Cast
for either boy or girl as follows: cont in st-st placing patt panel as off rem 12 sts.
