Patient Relation Officer

 Provided assistance and support by performing various secretarial, administrative and assistant
responsibilities for department leadership and others as assigned.
 Assisted Patients with Reports/Bills.
 Identified and routed information as appropriate.
 Visit admitted patients, discusses patien’s coverage and benefits and issues letter of authorization [ LOA ];
issues notification of non-coverage for non-covered confinements.
 Monitor daily patient’s progress chart to know patient’s need’s and current medical condition.
 Helps the patient during discharge by checking hospital bill charges and professional fees to maximize
patient’s benefits and to prevent occurrence of excess charges beyond the benefit coverage; advises
patient to settle non-convered charges.
 Maintaining current and accurate patient recordsand protecting them in manner consistent with all
applicable confidentiality-related requirements.

• Ensure coordination of communication between patients and families and medical staff
• Provide patients and families with information on hospital services, procedures and protocols
• Interview patients or families to determine nature of care needed and direct them to the concerned
healthcare providers
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding physicians and services
• Create and maintain liaison with insurance companies to inquire about payable or paid claims
• Analyze and interpret patient account data and facilitate payments
• Post patient demographic and financial entries into predefined hospital database
• Respond to patients’ complaints regarding hospital services and ensure that concerns are handled
properly
• Teach patients to use healthcare equipment on their own or in a home environment
• Assist patients with problems associated with hospital registration and admission
• Compile financial data and perform financial analysis assessments of uninsured patients
• Provide support by establishing payment arrangements for uninsured or underinsured patients
• Ensure that all concerns and complaints are directed to the concerned personnel with a hospital
• Perform crisis intervention duties with a view to facilitate resolutions
• Schedule meetings with patients or family members and ensure that corresponding physician or hospital
staff’s availability
• Effect change within the hospital system to ensure that patient experience is enhanced
• Suggest improvements to present hospital systems in a bid to make the system more workable
• Provide feedback to patients and families regarding their concerns and complaints
 Itemizes and totals purchases by recording prices, departments, taxable and nontaxable items; operating
a cash register.
 Enters price changes by referring to price sheets and special sale bulletins.
 Discounts purchases by redeeming coupons.
 Collects payments by accepting cash, check, or charge payments from customers; making change for cash
customers.
 Verifies credit acceptance by reviewing and recording driver's license number; operating credit card
authorization system.
 Balances cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift.
 Provides pricing information by answering questions.
 Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
 Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
 Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
