Our training staff
The training supervisors at Getinge Academy have extensive experience of medical-technical products and
infection control. They combine excellent teaching skills with backgrounds in the healthcare sector, process industry
or as service engineers in the Getinge Group. Moreover, our training supervisors are continuously improving their own
skills in product knowledge, norms and standards as well as teaching techniques.
Maria Jeansson Kinnunen – RTC Sweden
Maria has a background in programming and long experience as a training supervisor and in
various functions in Getinge. Since 2012 Maria is the Manager of Getinge Academy in Sweden.
She spends her spare time with her family, travels and she goes to the gym.
Ann-Charlotte Åkerlund – RTC Sweden
Ann-Charlotte is the person who makes sure that our course participants receive all the service
they can expect at the Getinge Academy – whether it is registration forms, airline reservations
or room and board. Ann-Charlotte likes to spend her free time with her family and friends or
jogging in the woods.
Henrik Svensson – RTC Sweden
Henrik has a background as an IT project manager and trainer for many years and is now
responsible for learning strategy and web-based training at Getinge Academy. A lot of his
spare time is spent on his family, house and occasional trips to the movie theater.
Madeleine Larsson – RTC Sweden
Madeleine started working at Getinge Academy as an intern while studying her last year at
the university. After her graduation she started working full time at Getinge Academy as a
Documentation Specialist. Madeleine likes to spend her spare time with her friends, cuddling
with her dog and reading. She also loves to travel and see new places.
Sara Trollér – RTC Sweden
Sara is a registered nurse, specialized in dialysis. At the Academy, Sara trains operators. She
spends her spare time with her family or in the kitchen cooking or baking.
Darek Podlewski – RTC Sweden
With a background as a humanist, business developer and engineer, Darek sees his work at
Getinge Academy as a way of contributing to health improvement for all mankind. After working
hours, Darek likes to help conserve natural resources by chopping wood.

Peter Severinsson – RTC Sweden
Peter’s background comes from the railway sector. At Getinge Academy, Peter trains both
operators and service technicians in sterilization. During his spare time Peter does a lot of
canoeing as well as jogging in the nearby woods.
Torbjörn Gustafsson – RTC Sweden
Torbjörn has a background in the heavy lifting equipment sector where he worked as a
technician and with technical support, production and technical training. He likes music,
traveling and spending his spare time with his family and exercising.
Göran Mäkinen – RTC Sweden
Göran has a background as a vehicle technology trainer in the Swedish Armed Forces. Here
at the Academy he trains service technicians in sterilization equipment. Görans leisure time is
devoted to his family, biking and building furniture.
Fredrik Klawatsch – RTC Sweden
Fredrik has a background in the railway sector and as a trainer in the medical devices
industry. He sees his work at Getinge Academy as a way to fight at the frontline in the global
war against microbes. Fredrik enjoys taking long bicycle trips, spending time with his wife and
traveling to new places.
Tine Munch Nielsen – Getinge IT-Solutions
Tine has a master’s degree in languages and communication and has specialized in
pedagogics. She is the training responsible at Getinge IT Solutions where she focuses on
learning management regarding software products. She develops product trainings and
train-the-trainer workshops for Getinge employees, as well as training structure for end users
all over the world. In her spare time, Tine likes to spend time with her kids, traveling, running,
and doing yoga.
Francis Decker – RTC Germany
Francis worked for many years as an engineer and service manager for Maquet in France and
now runs the Regional Training Center in Germany. His interests are classic cars and traveling.
Brigitte Weidenmüller – RTC Germany
Brigitte is the administrator at RTC Germany where she organizes the training courses. In her
free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friend, traveling and she has a passion
for cooking. She also enjoys the nature and sports.
Gilbert Mosur – RTC France
Gilbert has more than 27 years of experience within sterilization, and divides his time
between training and technical assistance to our customers, engineers and commercial
staff. He spends his spare time with family and friends, as well as with mountain biking and
photography.

 Peter Francis – RTC Australia
Peter joined Getinge Australia in July 1985 and has been involved in the Infection Control
industry for over 38 years. Prior to his current responsibilities as Training manager, Peter has
held many positions within Getinge e.g. production manager at the Brisbane factory. He is
now responsible for the training of service technicians and customer operators as well as
Business Development - Service. In his spare time Peter works on lowering his Golf handicap.
Daniel Farias – RTC Brazil
Daniel is a Project Coordinator of Getinge IC in Latin America, his main responsibilities are
Architectural Planning of CSSDs and Planning and Coordination of Installations. At the
Academy in Brazil Daniel trains technicians in sterilization and disinfection. He spends his
spare time with his family.
Marcelo Oliveira – RTC Brazil
Marcelo is a Product Specialist (Getinge IT Solutions and OR-Integration). His main
responsibilities are T-DOC, Getinge Online, Netcom and Tegris in Latin America. In his free time,
he has a little fun brewing his own beer and watching soccer team “Palmeiras” playing.
Thiago Rodrigues – RTC Brazil
Thiago has experience in training of medical and safety equipment. He has joined Getinge
Brazil as a product specialist. Thiago is a material engineer, specialized in infection prevention
and control in health care areas. In his spare time, he likes to go to the park with his family and
pets, cycling and listen to rock music.
David Song – RTC China
David’s primary education is pharmaceutical engineering, and has a background in
training and product management for Getinge. He has been the Academy representative in
China since 2004. In his spare time he enjoys being with his family and friends, hiking and
caricaturing.
Ashraf Elgeresi – RTC Dubai
Ashraf is born and raised in UAE, Ajman where he also graduated with a bachelor degree in
biomedical engineering from Ajman University. He joined Getinge International Middle East
& Africa (MEA) as a implementation specialist. His hobbies include fishing, scuba diving and
reading.
Mohamad El Idelbi J – RTC Dubai
Mohamad is born and raised in Lebanon, Beirut. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science
in Computer Science he joined Getinge International in February 2011 as a T-DOC technical
specialist. His job responsibilities covers T-DOC implementations planning, trainings,
installations and distributor/customer technical support. His hobbies include music, basket-
ball, swimming and reading.
Satish R. Kumar – RTC India
Satish has Masters degree in Medical microbiology and has a professional experience of 16
years in in-vitro diagnostics segment of Indian healthcare. His experiences includes working
at national level in areas of Product management, training, business development and sales. A
resident of Mumbai, his other facets are being an avid reader of literature, an amateur writer in
native language and travelling

Helen Ashwell – RTC UK
Helen is a Registered Nurse and leads the team at the Getinge UK Academy. She has
previously worked in endoscopy and short stay surgery. She has worked in the Academy
since 2005. In her spare time Helen enjoys long distance walking and cycling, and spending
time with her family.
Hazel Parry – RTC UK
Hazel is a Registered Nurse with experience in operating theatres, endoscopy and sterile
services departments. Hazel is a Clinical Trainer for the North of England and Scotland. When
not at work Hazel enjoys spending time with her family, walking and cycling. She also enjoys
travelling.
Karen McHale – RTC UK
Karen is a Registered Nurse with experience in the operating theatre, and endoscopy
decontamination. Karen is the Clinical Trainer for the North of England and Northern Ireland.
Karen likes to spend her spare time with her family and occasionally joins her daughter in a
step class at the local gym.
Ruth Harvey – RTC UK
Ruth is a Registered Nurse with experience in theatres, endoscopy and decontamination.
Ruth is the Clinical Trainer for customers in the South West of England. In her spare time she
makes sugar paste flowers and celebration cakes.
Nigel Wilson – RTC UK
Nigel works as a Clinical Trainer in the Getinge UK Academy and supports customers in the
South East of England and central London. He previously worked as an Operating Department
Practitioner in theatres and endoscopy. To relax in his spare time he can be found walking his
dog through his home county of Norfolk and beyond.
Steve Goddard – RTC UK
Steve is a Technical Trainer at the UK Academy. He delivers technical training to Getinge UK
Service engineers, both in workshops and supporting their learning in the field. He began his
technical and training career in the Royal Navy and worked for many years as an engineer for
Lancer UK prior to undertaking this role.
Lee Clark – RTC UK
Lee has spent 12 years working on autoclaves from many different manufacturers and joins
the Academy in the UK from the service department as a Technical Trainer. Lee spends his
free time playing and coaching hockey, enjoys cycling with his friends and having quality time
with his family.

“By definition, HCAI affects also health-care workers and the promotion of protective measures and
best practices should be among key priorities to reduce the burden of HCAI. Staff education is a key
element of all multimodal approaches and requires relatively limited efforts.”

The quote above is from WHO’s (World Health
Organization) Report on the Burden of Endemic
Health Care-Associated Infection Worldwide. It
confirms what we at Getinge Academy have known for
years. Education is important, not only for personnel
working in direct contact with infectious deceases
but also technicians, nurses, cleaning staff and other
personnel who can contribute in some way to decrease
infectious deceases such as HCAI (Health Care
Acquired Infection) and MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant
Staphylococcus Aureus). In the end this saves both
lives and money.
Our Infection Control courses are aimed towards
personnel who in some way come in contact with
medical devices for decontamination such as flusher-
disinfectors, washer-disinfectors and sterilizers. Our
participants are working as managers, nurses and lab
technicians within different areas such as healthcare,
dental care, animal care or Life Science.

Correct handling, regular maintenance and daily
checks are the basics of preventing unnecessary stops

correctly disinfected and/or sterilized. Getinge
Academy educates Getinge Service Representatives so
they can support you whenever you need help. We also
offer basic technical courses for your own in-house
technicians.
Your in-house technician will gain a basic under-
standing on how to handle basic alarms, perform
maintenance and do minor repairs on the specific
machine. They will also gain an understanding on how
the process looks like and what they are allowed to
change in the control system.

The courses are specific for each machine and are two day long except the course on the WD86-serie that
takes place in Sweden and the course on WD15 Claro that takes place in France which are only one day courses.
During the course the participants will learn the basics for the flusher- or washer-disinfectors’ mechanical and
electrical system and function. They will also be able to perform service, maintenance and repairs with the help of
the manuals.
Getinge CMS is a central dosing system that can be linked to washer-disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, and
manual cleaning stations in healthcare and laboratory applications to maintain the level of detergent in each of
the department’s units. And just as any other machine it needs maintenance and service to function properly.
After this course the participant will be able to perform routine checks, repairs and change parts on the Clean
