ADJETIVOS POSESIVOS
Un adjetivo posesivo, al igual que otros adjetivos, se coloca delante del sustantivo y
cumple la función de determinador.
The children will visit their grandmother - Los niños visitarán a su abuela
I lost my keys.
Perdí mi llave
PRONOMBRES POSESIVOS -
Annie's dress is red. Yours is green - El vestido de Annie es rojo. El tuyo es verde.

”It’s” no es un adjetivo o pronombre posesivo, sino la forma contraída del verbo to be (it
is).
Egypt is famous for its pyramids - Egipto es famoso por sus pirámides
I would like to visit Egypt. It’s a fascinating country - Me gustaría visitar Egipto. Es un
país fascinante
Para diferenciarlas mejor, veamos las dos formas en una misma oración:
It’s famous for its pyramids. What country is it? Es famoso por sus pirámides. ¿Qué
país es?
With its neck stretched, the giraffe is about 18 feet in height - Con el cuello estirado, la
jirafa mide unos 18 pies de altura
Either Jane or Peter will take their son to school - O Jane o Peter llevarán a su hijo al
colegio
Somebody forgot their keys on the table - Alguien olvidó sus llaves encima de la mesa
The student picks up a card and takes it to their desk. (A veces se prefiere esta forma
neutra para no usar ambos posesivos: The student goes to his/her desk) - El alumno coge
una tarjeta y la lleva a su pupitre
