Dear Participant,

Hope you are in the final stage of your preparation for traveling to IIT Kharagpur. We are sure that
you will be benefited from attending the Indo-US workshop and we shall try our best to make your
stay on our campus as comfortable as possible. The following information may be useful to you.

Reaching Kharagpur by Rail from Kolkata

(i) If you are arriving at Kolkata by air, take a pre-paid taxi from airport to Howrah station (17km,
approx fare Rs. 230/-; approx. journey time 50 to 70 minutes). Air conditioned bus is also available
from exit door of airport to Howrah station (fare is Rs.40/-) at a frequency of one per hour.
(ii) A large number of express and passenger trains are available to travel to Kharagpur from Howrah
station. Express train takes about 1Hr 45 minutes. Passenger train may take 2.5 Hrs to 3.0 Hrs.
(List of Trains between Howrah and Kharagpur is enclosed with this letter)

Reaching IIT Campus from Kharagpur Railway Station

You may take Cycle Rickshaw (App. fare Rs. 40/-) OR Auto (App. Fare Rs. 70/-) OR Taxi (App. Fare
Rs. 90/-). You can mention the name of the Guesthouse to the rickshaw/auto/taxi driver. Distance
from station to guest house is about 4 km.

Accommodation
Your accommodation has been arranged (on payment basis) in guesthouses of IIT Kharagpur
campus. Details will be sent to you by 7.00 PM(26.7.2010). Please check your email today evening.

Food
Breakfast has been arranged in the guesthouse. Lunch and dinner have been arranged at workshop
venue (Foyer of Vikramshila complex near Kalidasa auditorium).

Transport
Transport will be available at the guest-house at 8:15AM on 30-07-2010 and at 8:45AM on 31-07-
2010 to bring you to workshop venue (Kalidasa Auditorium, Ramanujam complex). Similarly transport
will be arranged for dropping you at guest houses after the completion of the programme on each day
(10.00PM and 8.45 PM respectively).

the time of registration.
