profitabila si mai eficienta pentru clientii sai. Cel mai recent exemplu al acestui caz este a doua cea mai
mare banca americana, J.P. Morgan Chase. Este alcatuita prin fuziunea a Chase Manhattan cu J. P.
Morgan, Robert Fleming, Beacon Group and Hambrecht & Quist. Dezvoltarile recente au aratat, insa, ca
astfel de fuziuni nu au intotdeauna succes in totalitate. Este adevarat, banca noua domina
imprumuturile sindicale in America. Activitatea bancara de comert in cantitati mici este foarte
profitabila. Actiuni returnate pentru produse legate de grija, eliberarea si managmentul numerar detin
de asemenea o contributie importanta a pietei bancare. Banca noua a ajutat derivate sa produca o
treime a castigului afacerilor bancare de investitie. Si in continuare specialistii au observat plecari de
profil inalt, si faptul ca o parte din angajatii valorosi au demisionat.

Greetings, thank you for coming. I'd like today to talk about the three core purposes of the bank of
England. I will start by saying that this bank has been the center of the UK financial system. It has been
the Government's banker, as well as providing banking services to its customers, the Bank of England
manages the UK's foreign exchange and gold reserve and the Government's stock register. It also has
the statutory responsibility for setting the UK's official interest rate. Interest rate decisions are taken by
the monetary policy committee. The MPC has to judge what interest rate is necessary to meet a target
for overall inflation in the economy. This is part of the bank's objective to maintain the integrity and
value of the currency, to achieve price stability in the economy. It also undertakes work on the
arrangements for handling financial crises should they arise. The bank also works to ensure that the UK
financial system provides effective support to the rest of the UK economy and that he UK remains an
attractive location for the conduct of international financial business.
