“AUTOMATIC METRO TRAIN TO SHUTLLE BETWEEN TWO STATIONS"

ABSTRACT:-

This project illustrates the technology used in metro train movements which are used in most of
the developed countries. This train is equipped with a controller that enables the automatic
stopping of the train from station to station. This project presents the development process of a
prototype for a driverless train implemented using a arduino baesd controller. The hardware
circuits, which are built on printed circuit boards (PCB), are interfaced with actuators and sensors
for automation purposes. The hardware is assembled in a toy-like prototype train.

INTRODUCTION:-

This project illustrates the technology used in now-a-days driverless metro trains which are used
in most of the developed countries like Germany, France, and Japan etc. These trains are equipped
with the CPU which controls the train. The train is set for a specific path. Every station on the path
is defined and also the stoppage timing of the train and distance between the two stations is
predefined. This proposed system is an autonomous train and it eliminates the need of any driver.
Thus, any human error is ruled out. In this project we are arduino as CPU. Whenever the train
arrives at the station it stops automatically, using an IR sensor. Then the door opens automatically
so that the passengers can go inside the train. The door then closes after a prescribed time set in
the controller by the program. There are indicators, which are used to show the train running. If
train dects RED signal the train stops by applying the brakes.

This project demonstrates the technology used in metro train movement which are used in most
of the developed countries. This train is equipped with a controller that enables the automatic
running of the train from one station to another. This proposed system is an autonomous train and
it eliminates the need of any driver. Thus, any human error is ruled out. In this project arduino has
been used as CPU. Whenever the train arrives at the station it stops automatically, using an IR
sensor. Then the door opens automatically so that the passengers can go inside the train .It is
equipped with a passenger counting section, which counts the number of passengers leaving and
entering the train. There should be a passenger limit for example 10 passengers is the limit – after
10 passengers getting into the train the doors will be automatically closed.

This project illustrates the technology used in metro train movements which are used in most of
the developed countries. This train is equipped with a controller that enables the automatic
stopping of the train from station to station. This project presents the development process of a
prototype for a driverless train implemented using a arduino Simulating for the system's circuits is
done with the aid of Proteus software. The hardware circuits, which are built on printed circuit
boards (PCB), are interfaced with actuators and sensors for automation purposes. The hardware is
assembled in a toy-like prototype train. The C programming language is used for programming
the arduino.
Aim and Objectives:-

Aim:-

The aim of this project is to drive the train automatically with the help of sensors and saftey of
passengers is the basic concern of our model based prototype metro train.
In this project, part of this automation tasks are considered, and a microcontroller-based prototype
is developed. Actions such as traveling through a given path with predefined stations, sensing the
arrival at the station and hence, proper stopping are implemented in the prototype. Messages that
are synchronized with the train's progression through its path are announced to passengers via a
display. Moreover, alarm signals are produced as appropriate.
Controlling of the doors in terms of open and close and timings of such actions are considered.

Objectives:-

1.Easy way of transport from and to remote area

2.Fully air conditioning trains
3.By using the automatic train systems we can travel a safe journey
4.High speed technology
5.Modernity
6.Easy Accessibility
Proposed plan of work:-

 Making circuit diagram from reading a reference books, related data from library and
collecting data from Internet.
 Downloading the datasheets reading electrical parameters to make power distribution in
circuit diagram it takes 15 – 20 days.
 Learning PCB design tool like PROTEUS. Initially making circuit diagram (i.e Schematic
layout ) and then we will makes its PCB design. It may takes 20 day to learn and make.
 After design we will etching the PCB using solution from proper guidance from guide. It
may takes 5-6 days
 We will drill on PCB using drilling machine which is available in collage laborartory. After
that we will by the electronic components from the electronic market and solder and
mounting on PCB with help of the guide. It may takes 3-4 days
 After soldering we will Testing debugging the tracks using multimeter which is easily
available in lab.
 A programming part we are learning keil tool and we will write a program in “embedded
C”. Embedded C program many free library available on internet and we get support from
our guide to make program complete and in burring a program in microcontroller. It may
takes 20- 30 days because of debugging in programming
 Finally last part is debugging and making model for project. It may takes 10-20 days
