 Reinforce the need to continue exercises at home.active ROM exercises increase

muscle mass, tone and strength pressure joint mobility and improve cardiac and

respiratory function.

 Encourage /advise patient to use/ wear a clean cotton t-shirt to prevent contact

between the skin and shoulder harness and to promote absorption of perspiration.

Treatment

 Teach and instruct patient to perform proper wound care and advise to wear binder

(provides support for abdominal muscles and help to promote healing at the incision

site)

 Inform patient to follow referrals and follow-up check ups.

Nutrition

 Encourage patient to maintain proper nutrition, healthy diet and avoid unhealthy

habits such as smoking and alcoholic drinks.
