With the support of satisfied students, the following are some of the testimonies
Genovate has received from graduates with outstanding performances

“A powerful and intensive experience where you literally take what you learn in the class-
room into the work environment. We liked the design and approach of the training. We
had fun; we learned a lot and also gained a level of practical skills by doing the exercises
and case studies. The dedication, enthusiasm and knowledge of the trainer are inspir-
ing.”
Ryan Zorg & Claudia Spoor, The Netherlands
EDP Auditor’s - Ernst & Young
Class of 31st May 2005, Full time Academy, Genovate Singapore

“The SAP course content is very well structured. The lecturer Alan Prouse is highly quali-
fied. It was easy to follow his narration. Examples given were also clear and in general
I am highly satisfied with the course delivery. However as a recommendation I would
suggest at the end of each week students could have some tests (with questions similar
to those in SAP exam) so that they could identify their understanding of the completed
material and see their gaps they could eliminate during weekend studies. As a big thanks
to Genovate Solutions we could freely extend our practicing in class with access to SAP
systems longer every day and full day on Saturdays. Many thanks to Aiza who was prop-
erly organizing things for us during all those 4 weeks.
Genovate Solutions very well organized the course; it was very beneficial and helpful. I
would recommend my other colleagues to take SAP courses at Genovate Solutions.”
Antonina Poriet (Sakhalin Energy Investment, Russia)
16 April 2007, Procurement (MM) Academy

“The SAP Training & Certification session at Genovate was very organized that made my
colleagues & me very comfortable, this relaxed atmosphere helped me in my concentra-
tion on the subject. It was indeed a very helpful value-add in my career.
Based on my experience doing SAP Certification at Genovate I would recommend others
the same.”
C.K. Ilangovan (Independent, Singapore); 16 April 2007, Procurement (MM) Academy

“Genovate staffs have been very supportive and professional in their approach to provid-
ing quality service and support. At times when specific requirements are needed they go
out of their way to meet our expectations.
I don’t have any knowledge in SAP when I signed up for the course, so I’m not able to
follow much during the class. However the lecturer, shanthi is experienced in our course
of study and patient in her teaching. She’s often able to relate her teaching with the real-
world situation to let us get a better understanding.”
Zhi Da Loh (Independent, Singapore) 17 March 2007, Order Fulfillment (SD)
“There at Genovate, I found much guidance by SAP professionals with industry experi-
ences. Undoubtedly, Genovate highly qualified trainers effectively delivered the content
of the course. I was impressed at the good track record of my instructor in ensuring that
all SAP concepts sink into every student. Classes were lively and fun with much empha-
sis on participations that enforced learning. Besides having good instructors, practically
everyone I met in Genovate was helpful and friendly. Not only the labs were sufficiently
equipped, the technical support was responsive and professional. The training
center provided the perfect environment for people with common interest in SAP to share
field experiences and to discuss about various domain of SAP knowledge.”
Sydney Thong (Senior Systems Analyst - Serial Systems Ltd
15 January 2005, PT Academy (SD)

“I was lost until I came to know about SAP HR Academy. This course really brightens up
my roads in life and widens my knowledge of SAP HR within just a month. The instructors
are professionals and very helpful in all aspects. Along the way there were times when
things became hard to understand but our dear instructor was there, happily cheering us
up. Training was tough but it was a great experience, thanks to the help from Genovate’s
talented and caring staff.”

using the SAP System. The courses serve as an introduction to a particular specialist
area, for example, procurement, production planning, and so on. Level 2 courses do not

VI. EXPERT OPINIONS

Career in SAP and ERP Consulting - Views of a SAP Practise Manager

<quote> With the growing requirements of SAP professionals across all the industry
verticals, the prospects of a bright career in SAP consulting are very promising. What is
required though is a deep understanding of business processes and the technologies
involved.

Many professionals wanting to build a stable career in SAP are unable to do so due to
the lack of proper guidance and grooming. The training required for anybody to under-
stand and develop the required skills in SAP should focus on:

- Concepts of a fully integrated ERP system

- Business processes involved in an ERP system
- Architecture of an ERP system
- Functional, Technical landscape and programming concepts for an ERP

Pre-requisites for a stable and promising SAP consulting career:

Technical Consulting: Technical consultants can be categorized in 2 types: SAP Basis
administrators, SAP Developers.

- SAP Administrator: The administrators are responsible for the day to day monitoring,
optimization and administration of the SAP system, the database and the operating sys-
tem. Apart from these main functions, an administrator is also responsible for the spool,
printing, security, users and authorization management and should monitor the day to
day backup activities. Ideally, a candidate should have worked (or have good exposure)
in the field of network management, database management, security administration etc.

- SAP Developers: The developers/programmers of SAP must learn and master the
SAP development language (ABAP/4). The programmers are responsible for creating
various additional functionalities integrated in the SAP environment or modify existing
SAP functionalities to better suit the client company requirements. Ideally, a program-
mer should have good knowledge of programming languages and technologies such
as Visual Basic, C/C++, Power Builder etc along with detailed exposure to ANSI SQL
commands. This helps to understand the SAP programming context in a better and
quicker manner.

Functional Consulting: Functional consultants are industry/domain professionals who

have mastered the business processes in the specific area , know how the processes
can be mapped in SAP and the solution can then be implemented for a company.
Functional consultants understand the business process requirements of a client and
map it within the SAP environment. Processes where modifications/alterations are re-
quired from the business side are discussed with the client company and the necessary
activities are carried out. If certain processes are not available in the exact required
form in SAP, they can be “Customized” or “Developed” in the SAP environment. Func-
tional consultants should ideally have a minimum 2 years of domain experience in the
respective area such as: Accounting, enterprise controlling, materials management,
production planning, project management, quality management, plant maintenance or
human resource etc. This will help you understand the client’s requirements better and
implement the best possible solution for the client. <end quote>
