---END OF EXCERPT---
The above excerpt is 60 years old information known in Japan. Probably, all Japanese
citizen know this. Just after the Second World War, the info circled entire Japan in the
newspaper. As you know, we have bathhouses (sento in Japanese) in every corner of
streets. It is just like hot spring in the cities. These bathhouses are being used both for
medicinal purposes and social gathering.
One early morning, a skinny old man, Mr. Yamada went to a public bath house. Usually
he was the first customer to visit for morning bath because Yamada was ashamed of his
skinny body to be seen by others. Of course, thinking that he was the first one to enter the
bathhouse, he saw a man with well-built body, smiling and greeting to him.
"Good morning, sir" the stranger said.
Yamada also greeted "Good morning, sir"
He continued to say "By the way, sir, do you live near here?"
The smiling stranger answered "Oh, I am travelling around. Why do you visit the bath so
early in the morning? Do you enjoy taking a bath?"
Yamada replied "You see, I am very skinny and I'm so ashamed to show my body."
The fat and good looking man said "Oh, it's easy to get healthy, just drink a glass of water
when you wake up. After a week, increase drinking to 2 glasses of water daily. Is it so
simple? I was also skinny like you before."
3
At the counter of the bathhouse, "Chief, do you know the man who
just left here now?"
The chief replied, "What are you talking? You are the only one
customer here."
Surprised, Mr. Yamada went home and sat for breakfast with his wife,
then, he saw the altar side. He remembered that the smiling man was
one of the Seven Gods of Fortune (Shichifukujin) he was praying
daily.
No. 6, lower front is the man (god) Mr.Yamada talked in the bathhouse. The god's name
is Daikokuten, god of wealth, commerce and trade.
I myself did this drinking water when I was so skinny. Nearly 50 percent of skinny
people who want to get healthy, practice it here in Japan.
Most people say that they drink water when they feel that their
throat is thirsty. However, our research group says that simply
drinking when you are thirsty is insufficient in maintaining the
body's moisture (fluid). On the other hand, too much drinking can
cause "water intoxication" a.k.a. hyperhydration or water poisoning.
To get healthy, let us drink water at the right time and at the right
quantity. But when and how?
Do you know that our body has a certain cell that keeps water in it?
If we do not have such cell in the body, even teardrops won't come
out from our eyes. What is that? Is it a new discovery? It was just
found in 2003 by an American scientist.
The kidneys clean (filters) the blood with water, but don't you know
that the quantity of water that passes the kidneys is about 150
liters in a day!? The average person has approximately 4 – 5 liters
of water in the blood, and the kidney filters almost 99 % of it
repeatedly. Excessive moisture or water is discharged as urine.

WATER INTOXICATION
The water you drink remains first in the stomach, and it slowly moves
to the intestine and from the intestine to the blood. This process
takes a little time to fill enough quantity of water in the blood,
and your brain may still trigger thirst. During this process, you
might drink too much water and may reach to a dangerous state
called "water intoxication" that can lead people to death.
Let's chew a candy or gum, or pinch your lips several times, your
thirst will disappear. It is just like hallucination in the brain,
but only momentarily. Soon, you will feel thirsty until real water
reaches your blood.
* The desert rat is another animal that get their liquid from the
food they eat. Although they don't actually drink, they still need
water from their food.
