UNIT 1
A. General information:

Unit title: People around us


Classroom/ level: 8th Grade
Subject Area: English

B. Communicative Competence Components:

Linguistic Component.
- Have a very basic repertoire of words and phrases related to their personal and educational
background.
- Have limited control over a few simple grammatical structures and sentence patterns in a
learned repertoire, which related to their personal and educational background.
Sociolinguistic Component
-Use basic expressions to impart and elicit factual information as well as socialize (e.g.
greetings, addressing forms, introducing oneself and other, saying ‘good- bye, etc)
Pragmatic Component
-Link words or groups of words with very basic linear connectors like and or or

This unit will benefit students with natural affinities to specific intelligences such as: Kinesthetic, visual, auditory, logical, linguistic, interpersonal
and intrapersonal. Also it helps students to develop skills, values. For this reason they can recognize and react to implicit and explicit values, attitudes
and behaviors in the real life according to the students’ level.
