This British Standard has been prepared by Technical Committee WEE/2 and is
the English language version of 1043-1:1996 Destructive tests on welds in metallic
materials — Part 1: Hardness test on arc welded joints published by the European
Committee for Standardization (CEN).
EN 1043-1 was produced as a result of international discussions in which the
United Kingdom took an active part.
BS EN 1043-1:1996 supersedes tests detailed in BS 709:1993 which have been
deleted by amendment.
