English Language Arts
Reading- Intro to Plants & Plant Parts
• Explain that plants are living
things
• Describe what plants need to live
and grow: food, water, air, and
light
• Explain that different kinds of
plants grow in different
environments
• Identify parts of the plant ( root
,stem, leaf, flower, and seed)
• Explain each of their importance
• Explain how a plant makes its own
food
• Core Vocabulary: environment,
nutrients, plants, soil,
photosynthesis, survival

Practice purple sight words
• Oral blending and sound/spelling review
• Read, spell, and write chains of one syllable
short vowel words.
• Rhyming
• Isolate and pronounce the initial, middle and
final sounds of (cvc) words.
• Read emergent- reader texts and decodable
books
• Using punctuation in writing, ( full stop.)
• The sounds /s/ and /z/ in plural nouns and in
verbs

Working with numbers 11- 19 to gain foundations for
