INTRODUTION

1.1 General Description

According to the Decree of the Minister of Parpostel no Km 94 / HK103

In a hotel, not only those facilities that make visitors feel comfortable

the hotel must have its own ability in their respective fields that they get from the

school where draw his knowledge.

Not only the knowledge that students get from the school, but the

students are also given the opportunity of direct training in hotels in the country or

abroad. Where every completed On The Job Training, students are required to

create and write a report in accordance with the department in the select. As in

this report which was created with the aim to summarize the materials obtained

during the On The Job Training.

Real Work Practice is a step that must be taken by students who have

been able to apply all the lessons learned in the lectures of lectures according to

certain departments and fields that one of them undertook the Department of Food

and Beverage Management (F&B). Of the theories that have been given, the

students must be able to practice it in the real world of work. Students must

explore their abilities and implement in the tourism industry that has been selected

to better educate students to be able to compete in the real world of work.

Indirectly the students who can pass the Real Work Practices well have been able

to increase the skills that have been taught such as soft skills, hard skill attitude,

knowledge. A Real Work Practice that has been done 24 weeks or 6 months, and

after that the authors can compile this report with what they have already acquired

as tourism actors. As long as the writer is in the industrial world will get job

description, then this period of skills taught in the lecture in practice according to

job description given.

It is expected that students who work in Real-Time Practice can adapt to

the situation during Real Work Practice in order to gain knowledge that will be

useful for the students themselves later in the day to jump into the industry to

work.

1.2 Objectives And Benefits of Real Work Practices

1.2.1 Objectives

Real Work Practice (PKN) is one of the curriculum included in the

lecture lectures as one of the requirements in lectures activities at the Academy of

Tourism Medan because Real Work Practice is the duty that must be run by the

students of Medan Tourism Academy as proof of student have been able apply the

theory already given in lectures. The purpose and objectives of the

implementation of Real Work Practices are as follows :

1. Preparing students to face competition in the real world of industry.

2. In order for students to measure themselves in the industrial world is

not just the theory on campus.

3. Preparing for competitive graduation to compete in the world of

work.

4. In order for students to understand and understand the situation in

the industrial world.

5. Making the students as individuals who are independent and can

solve problems that exist in the tourism industry of course in the

field of study undertaken.

6. In order for students to apply the theories that have been obtained on

campus.

7. Prepare the students to get the lessons off-campus, because

sometimes the theory given on campus has little difference in the

real-world industry.

 8. Increase the discipline of students in work, time discipline and

always responsible for the tasks charged.

9. In order for students to gain additional knowledge in the industry

through direct practice such as moderation of equipment and

materials used in industry.

1.2.2 Benefits

The benefits of implementing Real Work Practices in the tourism

industry are as follows:

1. Gain knowledge of the real world of work that can be used as an

experience at work later in the industry.

2. For students / i can provide reference and experience to work later

on when finished running education in lectures to find work.

3. In terms of measurement for the Medan Academy of Tourism can

measure the level of education applied on campus.

4. In the case of promotion for the Medan Tourism Academy better

known dibenak industrial society that has students who are proficient

in work, and indirectly raised the name of the campus itself.

In addition to the above benefits indirectly the hotel also benefited from

the implementation of real working practices.

The benefits gained by the hotel are :

1. Getting feedback on new ideas coming from feedback that can be

used as a reference for the development of hotels concerned to him.

2. Suppressing operational costs by recruiting trainees, as in addition to

obtaining additional academic services also reduce the use of daily

workforce or Daily Worker (DW).

3. Recommendation of potential workforce in the future by observing

the performance of the trainees concerned during real work

practices.

4. Oprasional can assist the smooth operation of the hotel with the

addition of an educated and trained workforce.
