Make Me: Show to the class five different Facebook emoticons. They have to
make a story out of those emoticons. The group with the most creative
presentation wins. The following are the five Facebook emoticons:

 How did you come up with your own story?
 What do you call those important sequence of events that make up a

Watch and Learn: Show to the class an animated video presentation about the

Examine: Based on the activity earlier, ask them to tell the important events in
Biag ni Lam-ang. This will lead them to the elements of plot and their
definitions.
4.3 Analysis
(10 minutes) Process Questions:
 What are the important events that are found in the video?
 What enables you to understand the story you watched a while ago?
 What are the five elements of plot that make up the short story?
Discussion: Reveal to the class the five elements of plot. Let them give the
definition for each element.
4.4 Abstraction
(10 minutes) Powerpoint Presentation: Show a graphic organizer containing the elements
of plot and their correct definition.
Let the students read the literary piece entitled The Legend of Mayon Volcano .
4.5 Application After reading, let the student discuss the important events in the story and
(10 minutes) classify them according to its elements.

4.6 Assessment Group the students into four and let them create their own short story. After
(15 minutes) that, let them perform a role play using the short story they have made. The
other groups should identify the elements of the story the other groups
presented.
