DIGITAL POWER SUPPLY

Digital power supplies, also known as switch-mode or switch power supplies,

work in a nonlinear fashion. The unit converts AC voltage to DC voltage, and then
feeds that DC voltage to a chopper, which chops up the DC current into
manageable chunks in order to convert it to high-frequency AC voltage.

ANALOG POWER SUPPLY

A power supply is a component that supplies power to at least one electric load.
Typically, it converts one type of electrical power to another, but it may also
convert a a different form of energy – such as solar, mechanical, or chemical - into
electrical energy. A power supply provides components with electric power.

OSCILLOSCOPE

An oscilloscope is a laboratory instrument commonly used to display and analyze

the waveform of electronic signals. In effect, the device draws a graph of the
instantaneous signal voltage as a function of time.

FUNCTION GENERATOR

Produces sine, square, triangular, sawtooth (ramp), and pulse output.

Arbitrary waveform generators can produce waves of any shape. It can generate a
wide range of frequencies. ... Some function generatorscan be phase locked to an
external signal source, which may be a frequency reference or anotherfunction
generator.
RESISTOR-CARBON TYPE

Carbon resistors are a cheap general purpose resistor used in electrical and
electronic circuits. Their resistive element is manufactured from a mixture of finely
ground carbon dust or graphite (similar to pencil lead) and a non-conducting
ceramic (clay) powder to bind it all together.

RESISTOR-SINGLE BAND

Zero ohm resistors are made as lengths of wire wrapped in a resistor-shaped body
which can be substituted for another resistor value in automatic insertion
equipment. They are marked with a single black band.
RESISTOR-CERAMIC TYPE
Engineers and technicians, define ceramic resistors as those that use ceramics to
control a resistor’s resistive value.Ceramics are a very common internal component
of many different types of resistors. In a carbon film or resistive wire resistor, the
resistive material adheres to the outside of a ceramic core, usually in the shape of a
cylinder. These cores provide a non-conductive base to hold the conductive
components of the resistor in place, and give the resistor its general shape and size.

CAPACITOR-MYLAR TYPE
Mylar capacitors have low levels of moisture absorption. They are used on
semicritical circuits with maximum voltage loads of 60,000 volts of direct current.

CAPACITOR-ELECTROLYTIC
TYPE
Like other conventional capacitors, electrolytic capacitors store the electric
energy statically by charge separation in an electric field in the dielectric oxide
layer between two electrodes. The non-solid or solid electrolyte in principle is the
cathode, which thus forms the second electrode of the capacitor
DIODE-LED

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a two-lead semiconductor light source. It is a p–n

junction diodethat emits light when activated. When a suitable voltage is applied to
the leads, electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device,
releasing energy in the form of photons.

JUNCTION DIODE

junction diode (plural junction diodes) (physics) A semiconductor rectifying

device in which the barrier between the two regions of opposite conductivity (n-
type and p-type) type produces the rectification. All solar cells are junction diodes.

DIGITAL MULTITESTER
A digital multitester (DMM) is a test tool used to measure two or more electrical
values—principally voltage (volts), current (amps) and resistance (ohms). It is a
standard diagnostic tool for technicians in the electrical/electronic industries.

BREADBOARD
A breadboard is a device used as a construction base in developing an electronic
circuit. Breadboards can be solderless, which allows them to be reusable. A
solderless breadboard is made of plastic and perforated with numerous holes.
