UNIT OBJECTIVE: At the end of this unit students will be able to describe the function of human body parts (brain, heart,
lungs, stomach, muscles, and skeleton) and their basic functions.

CONCEPTUAL CONTENT

Heart

PROCEDURAL CONTENT:

 Discussing the function of each part.


 Identifying where major human body parts are located in the body.
 Describing the function of the brain, the heart, the lungs, the muscles, the stomach, and the skeleton.
ATTITUDINAL CONTENT:

 Being responsible with the assigned tasks in the different class’ activities.
 Being aware of the function of the human body parts.
 Getting involved in the class’ discussion of the topics.

2. Content presentation:

3. Topic introduction: ask children to answer the following question regarding to the video

CLASS DEVELOPMENT:

Topic: function of the heart

Specific class objectives: at the end of the class, students will be able to explain the function of the heart.

Give students the following page

children have to answer the following questions according to the video

Where is the heart located? _____________________________________________________

What are the main functions of the heart? ___________________________________________________

How many parts is the heart made up? ______________________________________________________

Which are the names of these parts? _________________________________________________________

Activity two:

Write on the board

Heart: it works all the time to keep your blood flowing

Give students the following picture

Children have to color the parts as it is presented in the picture

Activity three: ask children to read page 199 and complete the question
