SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN

MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY (MIL)

I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

At the end of one hour, 85% of the students will be able to:
1. define multimedia
2. identify the different forms of multimedia
3. appreciate the importance of multimedia.

II. LEARNING CONTENT/SUBJECT MATTER:

Topic: Multimedia
Code: MIL11/12MM-IVij-23
Learning Competency: Describes the different dimension of multimedia
information and media.

Multimedia PowerPoint presentation by Mrs. Elvy Canada
b. Materials:
Projector, PowerPoint presentation, Meta cards
c. Strategies:
Questioning Method, Collaborative Learning

III. LEARNING ACTIVITIES/PROCEDURE:

A. Preliminary Activity
Prayer
Checking of attendance
Classroom Management
B. Review
Ask the students on the previous lesson discussed.

C. Lesson Proper

Activity
Ask the students to write down on the Meta cards their encounters of
electronic devices as they wake up and on the way to school and post it
on the board. (1 min.)
Analysis
With the given answers of the students, eliminate the electronic devices
that are not related to multimedia and may add up those not mentioned.
Ask them as to its uses and importance.
Introduce the word multi and media.
Show the objectives.
Abstraction
Define multimedia.
Multimedia- is a combination of text, graphic, sounds, animation
and video.
Show pictures.
Let the student guess on the different forms of multimedia.
Expound on students’ understanding on the different forms of
multimedia.
Group the class into 5 groups and brainstorm on the importance of
multimedia on business, education, entertainment, public places and
home.
Present the output through “paint me a picture” activity and an assigned
leader explains the output.
Show rubric.
Given the importance of multimedia, discuss then its advantages and
disadvantages.

Application – Write a short advice message to a special member of the family


as to the advantages and disadvantages of multimedia found at home.

IV. EVALUATION:
Paper and pen test.
Test I. Define Multimedia (5pts.)
Test II. 1-5. List down 5 forms of multimedia
5-10. Give 5 advantages of multimedia
11-15. Give 5 disadvantages of multimedia.

V. REMEDIAL/ENRICHMENT:

Additional written activity for those who are absent in the class.

VI. ASSIGNMENT:

½ Crosswise
Answer the question on how multimedia is/are formally and informally
produced?
