Gamification

Gamification is giving a game like feel to nongame contexts like tests, flashcards etc. It has
recently became very popular among many industries. And is a potential disruptive force in
education.

We plan to gamify the test questions for the users. Specially tests of sections of IQ, Math and
Vocabulary. These will be a part of the mobile application of Unipedia and can also be part of
the web interface. Users will be able to learn in a by playing games on their mobiles. The games
will be designed keeping the tests in mind.

There can be various strategies to make these games interesting. The difficulty in games will
increase as the user progresses in the game. And finally on making a perfect score or making a
specific score will classify the user as well prepared for that topic

Benefits
● Makes learning fun and interesting for the students
● Improves overall learning efficiency of the student.
● Makes Unipedia a possible assistant even if a student is enrolled for test preparation in
other competitions.
● A value added service for the students.
● Increase in overall - engagement of students.
● The scores of the users will directly reflect their preparation of particular subject. Hence
enabling them to know where they lack.

Cost To Implement
The monetary cost for implementing gamification considering the resources Unipedia already
has, will be getting design elements and graphics for in-game graphics. The average salary of a
good designer per month is roughly 25-50k. Also these can be outsourced to a freelancer as
well.

Other than the monetary benefits, about 2 months of effort of the development head of Unipedia
who has developed is maintaining the application currently will be needed.

Return On Investment
As discussed earlier, this will be an excellent competitive edge for Unipedia. It adds value for
the students using the application. Moreover, students currently see tests as an exhaustive
study based task. Gamifying learning will keep the users engaged, which will attract non users
as well as retain first time users.

Increases probability of word of mouth marketing. There hasn't been any such feature provided
by any one in the market. If Unipedia takes this up, it will increase word -of-mouth marketing for
Unipedia and will bring organic growth to the user base.

Live Forums
Forums will be a platform for the students enrolled with Unipedia to raise issues or discuss any
type of information related to tests with the community in realtime. All the discussions will be
available to all Unipedia users to access.

This will create a knowledge base of issues, concerns and relevant information regarding
entrance tests. More ever forums provide an organized way to response to students.

Benefits
● A place for users to communicate and ask for help or help the community
● Discussion , issues, concerns raised will indirectly be relevant and important feedback
for Unipedia to look into their product.
● It will match the competition offerings, as this feature is implemented by top competition
in the market.
● Adds user generated content to the application, improving SEO
● Keeps the user engaged via automated emails on the forum and topics the user is
following

Cost To Implement
The cost to implement is minimal and can be done easily using third party plugins and
extensions. However to bring new users to use the forum must be done by providing CTA
buttons throughout the website. The important content of the forum can also be shared in
unipedia facebook groups and facebook page.

ROI
It is an easy feature to add which will create user content and generate feedback for Unipedia.
Moreover, backlinks generated from forum will bring new users to the platform.
Like a student can share a problem from test to discuss in forum among other students. If
anyone on the web looks for a similar problem Google search will bring the forum post in
searches. This way it will bring new users to Unipedia.

Unipedia Online Learning Center ( OLC )

With the emergence of internet in rural areas of Pakistan and trend of online courses being
common among students, it’s a great opportunity to provide complete online courses for
aptitude test preparation. OLC is to offer online courses, like coursera, udemy etc to go through
complete aptitude test preparation from home, TLC (described below), or any other feasible
location instead of going to coaching centers like Anees Hussain, IBA Grads etc.

OLC will work like a normal coaching center with respect to procedures, but with more flexibility
and efficiently. It will flow in the following pattern:

1. Student will select the aptitude test, he/she wants to prepare for and get registered.
2. Student will get the schedule of classes and access to the content of class.
3. Student will attend the classes of each chapter.
4. Each class will have lecture video, notes and summary of each topic as content, and
sample questions from each topic.
5. At the end of each chapter there will be a preparation test from the topics covered in the
chapter.
6. Periodic test of previously studied chapters for revision purposes.
7. Student will get the detailed report of each test, showing the success and failure
percentages, weak areas and topics etc.
8. At the end of the course student will have to give a grand comprehensive test similar to
the actual aptitude test.

Student can visit any section of the course for preparation, revision or repeating test. Course will
be available for the student till the actual test date of the university.

Benefits
OLC provides essential benefits to the student preparing for aptitude test. From ease of access
and usability to efficiency in learning and preparation. Following are some key benefits of OLC:

1. Significant time of a person is wasted in traffic especially in urban areas, and for student
preparing for aptitude test time is an essential thing. OLC being online saves that time of
travelling.
2. Student have an ease of access to the whole thing especially for the students of rural
areas.
3. For students of rural areas OLC will cut down the cost of travelling, cost of stay and food
etc, because they will only have to travel for test to the urban area, and don’t have to go
to urban city for preparation as they can prepare at home with OLC.
4. Procedure of registration and course delivery is similar to traditional coachings so that a
student won’t feel awkward in the process.
5. Schedule will help student to manage their time for each chapter and topic
6. Notes and course content being aligned with gamification(described above) will help
student to prepare efficiently.
7. Video recorded lectures can be played back anytime from any part of video to clear the
concept, or revise the topic.
8. Sample questions from each topic will help student to get the idea how they have to
prepare for the topic.
9. Periodic test is to ensure the revision thing of the course.
10. Detailed reports of each test will help the student to analyse their strengths and
weaknesses, areas where they need to spend more time and put more effort to prepare
for test.

OLC will benefit student through their step by step teaching of concepts, frequent test and
evaluation reports to prepare for the aptitude as a whole, in a more efficient and productive
manner than traditional aptitude test preparation institutes.

Cost To Implement
Development of OLC with respect to software won’t cost much, as Unipedia already has
inhouse development team. So with respect to resource they need much, in software there cost
will be time as OLC has to be a robust system, with great user interface. With iterative
development approach they can achieve it six months. Software infrastructure will be same as
present as they already have their website uploaded.

Unipedia will have to bare some cost for the collection of content and organizing currently
available content. Shape the content in course format, for that Unipedia will need to collaborate
with teachers. For this Unipedia can have a contract with teachers on the basis of subject.

Return Of Investment
Investment on OLC can give a beneficial returns, in terms of monetary, brand name and
promise. OLC will provide access to rural areas students including female students. OLC
provides complete preparation portal, that will attract students for pursuing complete preparation
from Unipedia. OLC will provide a system for TLC. Unipedia is currently supporting minor
transactions, OLC will give access to have a larger profit cut. It will increase student turn over,
that will ultimately increase the monetary profits. Unipedia will be able to establish itself as a
trustable brand for aptitude test preparation.
