Read the text below and choose the best answer for each gap.

2 Superlative adjectives
We use `the' + superlative adjective to say which is the biggest, strongest, tallest, etc. in a group.
Study the table below and write the superlative forms of the adjectives below.

Superlative form
one syllable Add -est
fast --> fastest slow --> slowest
When an adjective ends in one vowel + one consonant, we
double the consonant:
big --> biggest hot --> hottest
two-syllable words ending in -y --> -iest
consonant + -y
heavy --> heaviest early --> earliest
two or more syllables Use the most ...
dangerous --> the most dangerous
intelligent --> the most intelligent
irregular good --> best bad --> worst far --> furthest
