THE CORRELATION BETWEEN LEVEL OF EDUCATION, NUTRITION
STATUS AND SMOKING HABITS WITH THE OCCURRENCE OF
PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS AT WORKING REGION PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER OF KAWUNGANTEN IN CILACAP REGENCY 2017 Fitri Puspita Ratnasari, Sonhajiˡ, Nuruddin Arief Gunawan² ABSTRACT Tuberculosis is a disease of global concern, in estimated tuberculosis still was attacking 10.4 million people andcause of death 1.8 million in 2015. The highest incidence of Pulmonary TB in the working area of Public Health Center Kawunganten, Cilacap was 150 cases in 2014. Various factors that influence the incidence of Pulmonary TB include the level of education, nutritional status and smoking habits. The research was purposed to determine the relationship between the level of education, nutritional status and smoking habits with the incidence of Pulmonary TB in working area of Public Health Center Kawunganten in Cilacap Regency 2017. The method used is analytical survey with cross sectional approach. Population in this research is all suspect of Pulmonary TB in working area Public Health Center of Kawunganten, in Cilacap Regency 2017 as many as 72 respondents and sample counted 61 respondents by using simple random sampling technique. The analysis data was using chi square and regresi binary logistic. The results showed that there was a statistically significant relationship between educational level and the incidence of Pulmonary TB in the working area of Public Health Center Kawunganten in Cilacap Regency 2017 (ρ= 0,03 <α= 0,05). There was statistically significant correlation between nutritional status and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the working area of Public Health Center Kawunganten in Cilacap Regency 2017 (ρ= 0,00 <α= 0,05). There was a statistically significant relationship between smoking habit and Pulmonary TB incidence in the working area of Public Health Center Kawunganten in Cilacap Regency 2017 (ρ= 0,02 <α= 0,05). The most dominant factors between education level, nutritional status and smoking habit with the incidence of Pulmonary TB in the working area of Public Health Center Kawunganten in Cilacap Regency 2017 are nutritional status (ρ = 0.0005 <α = 0,05, OR= 4,646). It is hoped that the health team will conduct prevention and early detection by providing counseling and counseling about pulmonary tuberculosis, as well as prevention efforts by giving OAT (Anti TB Medication) and the determination of PMO (Drug Supervisor) for every patient of Pulmonary TB.
