Acronis True Image 2016 WD Edition, build 33

Known issues

1. Issue: Unable to create a bootable rescue media with a CD.

Symptom: When attempting to create a bootable rescue CD, the following error may be generated:

Workaround: Create a bootable rescue media with a USB flash device instead of a CD.

2. Issue: When cloning a drive in Windows, the Acronis UEFI boot loader does not run when the system restarts.

Symptom: When a drive is cloned with Acronis, running in Windows, the system performs a restart and runs
Acronis outside of Windows to complete the cloning process. With some systems, the restart may not load
Acronis and instead just reboots to Windows without completing the cloning process. This may be more likely
to occur in UEFI systems that use a GPT OS image format.

Workaround: Start the cloning process again in Windows. When the system restarts, press the appropriate
function key to view the BIOS Boot Menu. An example of the Boot Menu is shown below.

If the Acronis Loader is listed, select it and allow Acronis to boot and complete the cloning process.

Note: Each system may use a different function key to view the BIOS Boot Menu. Consult the PC manufacturer’s
User Guide for to determine which function key to press at system restart.

Note: Different systems will display the BIOS Boot Menu in different formats.

If the Acronis Loader is not listed, start Acronis with an Acronis bootable rescue media (either CD or USB flash),
instead of starting Acronis in Windows, and perform the drive clone.

3. Issue: After cloning a drive, the newly cloned drive is not recognized.

Symptom: When starting the system with a newly cloned drive, the system does not boot to Windows. This may
be more likely to occur in UEFI systems that use a GPT OS image format.
Workaround: Power cycle the system. At power on, press the appropriate function key to view the BIOS Setup.
Reset the BIOS to default settings. Save and Exit the BIOS Setup. Reboot the system.

Note: Each system may use a different function key to enter the BIOS Setup. Consult the PC manufacturer’s User
Guide for to determine which function key to press at system restart.
