Chantilly, VA, January 27, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Germane Systems is pleased to announce that is has
received an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Identification Number that will allow it to comply
with Section 3010 of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The RCRA itself goes back
to the 1980's and the early days of the EPA, but recent updates to the law focus on significant
environmental hazards in electronics manufacturing. A wide range of hazardous and challenging products
are regularly involved in electronics, from acids that etch PC boards, to lead in solder connections, to rare
metals like mercury found in certain types of switches - the list is quite extensive, each requiring a
specific type of safe handling and proper disposal.
Kerry O'Brien, CEO and President of Germane Systems commented, “As a provider of ruggedized
technology products to both public and private sectors, we believe it is our social responsibility to ensure
our personnel, customers, and the environment are protected by conscious efforts that minimize and/or
eliminate the impact of hazardous materials. As a world class company, compliance to section 3010 is
another example of our commitment to excellence.”
