Suffolk Chapter Columbiettes
WE CARE JMJ WE SHARE
Dear Sisters:

“So this is February”

On February 10th Suffolk Chapter and Kavanaugh Columbiettes are hosting a Valentines
Dinner and Dance. ( Please see Chapters Flyer. ) So we can eat, drink and do good before
the start of lent. All profits will go to the FAC program which benefits Knights and
Columbiettes. So let’s join together and do this.

February 14th is Ash Wednesday the start of lent.

February 19th is our Chapter Meeting and also our Birthright Shower. The Resurrection
Columbiettes have been doing this since I can remember. Peg Conlon will also be there to
accept the Shower Gifts. Last year we ran out of tables to put the donations on.

Once again p0lease support the Valentines Dinner and Dance for the FAC program. DO IT
FOR THE CAUSE AND NOT THE APPLAUSE. It helps so many people.

Thank you to the Suffolk Chapter Knights, Chapter Chairman and the Officers, for the
wonderful Kick Off for the Charity Drive. All these events let us do what Good Christians
and Knights and Columbiettes should do. So again let’s DO IT!!!!!

Please keep our sick and deceased Sister Columbiettes and Brother Knights and their families
in our Thoughts, Hearts and Prayers.

May the Good Lord keep us all in the Palm of His

Hand.

Respectfully
Elaine Addie

In 1954, lobbying by the Order of the Knights of Columbus
helped convince the U.S. Congress to add
the phrase "under God" to the
Pledge of Allegiance.
President Dwight Eisenhower wrote to
Supreme Knight Luke E. Hart thanking
the Knights for their "part in the
movement to have the words 'under God' added
to our Pledge of Allegiance."
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and
to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God,
indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. ”

Prayer for the Canonization of Father Michael J. McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an
apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his
life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up
his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we
may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your servant
Father Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor
I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father.
