Groundwater
Springs- water that comes from underground and returns to the surface.
Some springs are hot. Water from hot springs passes through the cracks
on earth where there are hot rocks. Hot springs are also good for
therapy.

Lake and Pond- A body of water surrounded by land. The water in lakes
comes from a river. A pond may form when part of Earth’s surface caves
in and leaves a hole; rain or water from underground springs and rivers
fills the hole until it becomes a lake or a pond. Some lakes were once
volcanoes. Some ponds are made by humans which are sometimes used
to raise fishes and shrimps.
Sea- A large body of water. It meets the mouth of the river. As the river
flows, the water dissolves salt from soil and rocks, which are carried to
the sea. Some seas are partly or fully enclosed by land. It is called inland
sea. The sea is a major source of various types of fishes.
Mountain- are higher than their surrounding areas, they have steep
slopes and they serve as habitats for wild animals. They are also a main
source of minerals. Water may also flow down from mountains. Because
of their beauty, some mountains become tourist spots. They are usually
rich in water.
Plains- plains are the low, flat areas of the earth. Some plains are created
from soil that are carried by floods overtime or by flowing lava after a
volcanic eruption. Many towns and cities are built on plains.
Cagayan Valley
Plateaus- are high flatland. They are separated from the other areas by
steep slopes. Many towns cities and agricultural areas are located in
plateaus.
Baguio City
Island- is a landform surrounded by water. The Philippines is made up of
7,107 islands.
Questions:
Land forms are used for planting, home for land animals, sources of
trees which can be used for building houses furniture, and paper
products, transportation, and places to build houses, parks, and other
buildings.
