Getting Started with your Strike Target System

1. Examine the Enclosed Inventory Checklist List


2. Carefully lay the closed Duffle Case or Secure Case on the
floor.
3. Unzip the large pocket on the Duffel Case or open the
clasps of the Secure Case.

Pod Battery Installation

1. Remove the
SMARTfit batteries
and Charging
Station from the
Package.

2. Insert the Clear


Plastic Battery
Dividers into the
slots of the Main
Central Power
Station.

3. Insert the SMARTfit
Batteries in between
each plastic divider.

4. Connect the
SMARTfit batteries
to the Charging
Station using the
USB Wires
provided.

5. Connect the Power


Cord to the Power
Station. Allow to
charge overnight
6. (A minimum of 7
hours, but not
longer than 24
hours).

7. After charging is
complete, pair up
each of the 5
batteries with each
of the 5 Pods. The
6th battery will be
used for the CPU.

8. Locate the battery
compartment on
the side of each
Pod.
9. Slide open the
battery
compartment on
the side of each
Pod by applying
pressure and
sliding in upward
motion. (Use a
finger at the bottom
and one finger on
top for easier
movement).
10. Locate the ON/OFF
button on the
SMARTfit battery.
Turn it on by
pressing the
ON/OFF button
twice. A bright white
light will indicate that
the battery is on.

11. Insert the


SMARTfit battery
with one hand,
while holding the
USB target wire
with the other
hand.

12. Make sure that the
2.1A USB port,
closest to the light,
is closest to the
USB wire inside of
the battery
compartment.

13. Plug the USB wire


into the 2.1A USB
port before placing
the battery all the
way inside the Pod
compartment.

14. Locate the Pod’s


rectangular ON/OFF
Button positioned at
the opening of the
battery compartment
and press it to turn it
on.

15. Slide the battery


compartment cover
back on for
securing the
battery.

CPU Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on


top of the CPU.

2. Slide open the CPU’s battery


compartment by applying pressure
and sliding in a downward motion.

3. Locate the ON/OFF button on the


SMARTfit battery. Turn it on by
pressing the ON/OFF button twice.
A bright white light will indicate that
the battery is on.

4. Insert the SMARTfit battery with


one hand, while holding the USB
target wire with the other hand.
Make sure that the 2.1A USB port
(CLOSEST TO THE LIGHT) is
closest to the USB wire inside of
the battery compartment. Plug the
USB wire into the 2.1A USB port
before placing the battery all the
way inside the Pod compartment.

5. Place the battery cover back on to


secure the battery.

6. The CPU’s lights will turn on and
display your 8-digit User ID.

Attaching the CPU to the Duffle Bag Stand

1. Lay the CPU face down on a flat


surface (the top of the Duffle Case
can be used).

2. Stand the Duffle Case in the


upright position. Extend the Duffle
Case’s handle upwards.

3. Attach the included CPU strap to


the CPU by placing the 2 CPU Strap
Pins into the 2 Pinholes located on
the top back portion of the CPU.

4. Use the CPU strap, which you
attached to the CPU in step 3, to
secure the CPU on the Duffle Case
handle.

Pod Layout Set up your pods in one of the following layouts (floor, rack, wall):
1. Pods can be laid out in any
configuration on the floor. No
more than 100’ from the CPU.

2. Pods can be fastened to a rack


in a gym using any of the vertical
rack columns.

3. Or on a wall using the provided


template with markings for the
Controller (optional) and the
pods to place provided wall
screws in various configurations:

a. In a vertical line

b. Wide placement for


Cardio and lateral
movement.

c. Two stacked on either


side of the controller.

Rack Straps

1. Locate one of the rack straps


located in the duffle case. It
consists of a:
a. strap to hold the pod on
the rack and
b. a sticky rubber strip that
will prevent the pod from
slipping on the rack.

2. Secure the sticky rubber strip on


the lower side of the pod.
3. Then secure one end of the strap
to the one of the holes on the
upper side of the pod.

4. Secure the second end of the


strap.

5. Attach the Pod onto the gym rack.

6. Press body against the front of
the pod, so that you can use both
hands to secure the rack strap.

7. Slide one end of the rack strap


through the opposite end, then
tightly secure the strap.

8. Make sure the rack strap is tight


enough, so that the Pod can
stand on its own.

Concrete Wall Installation

1. Locate the Pod template in the


case.

2. Place it against the wall, while


making sure it’s level.
3. Mark all 3 holes labeled “SP.”
4. Mark all 3 “SP” holes in four more
locations.
5. Mark a set of 3 holes labeled
“CPU.”

6. Using a power drill and ¼’’


concrete drill bit, drill 1 ½” deep
holes at each of the marked “SP”
and “CPU” holes. There should be
a total of 18 drill holes

7. Use the Plastic tool kit labeled


“Brick Wall.”

8. Remove the blue anchors, place
them in each of the drill holes.

9. Using a rubber mallet hammer the


anchors into the wall.

10. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen


the anchor screw about ½”.

11. Screw in the blue screws to each of


the 18 anchors.

12. Now attach all 5 Pod and CPU to


their desired location. (Refer to
images below).

Stud Wall Installation

1. Locate the Pod template in the


case.

2. Place it against the wall, while


making sure it’s level.

3. Mark all 3 holes labeled “SP.”

4. Mark all 3 “SP” holes in four more


locations.

5. Mark a set of 3 holes labeled


“CPU.”

6. Using a power drill and 5/16’’ drill


bit, drill 2 ½” deep holes at each of
the marked “SP” and “CPU” holes.
There should be a total of 18 drill
holes.

7. Use the Plastic tool kit labeled


“Stud Wall.”

8. Remove the Stud Wall anchors,
place them in each of the drill holes.

9. Using a rubber mallet hammer the


anchors into the wall.

10. Using a Phillips Screw Driver,


loosen the anchor screw about 1/2’’

11. Attach all 5 Pod and CPU to their


desired location.

Pod Stand Assembly

1. Carefully lay the case on the


floor.

2. Unzip the large pocket and


remove all of the pieces. Lay it
on the floor.

3. Set aside 1 base, 1 pole


extension, and 1 backplate.

4. Locate the T-Handle Hex


Wrench inside the case.

5. Gather the base and pole


extension.

6. Place the pole extension with


the triangle/screws facing the
long part of the plate.

7. Slide the screws, at the bottom


of the pole extension, into the
base.

8. Lock it by sliding the screws in


a lateral direction.

9. Using the T-handle Hex


Wrench, tighten the screws to
the base.

10. Place the stand into the upright
position.

11. Before attaching the back plate,


take off the cover piece located
at the top of the pole extension.

12. The slider on the back plate will


slide into the pole extension.

13. Slide down the back plate to a


convenient height.

14. Using the T Handle Hex


Wrench, tighten the two middle
screws to lock the backplate in
place.

15. Re-attach the front cover cap.


(only used on 68” high stands)

16. Loosen/Tighten the knob on the


back of the pole extension to
adjust the height.

17. Place the Pod on the back
plate.

18. Place your SMARTfit weights


on the back of the base for
stabilization.

Using the SMARTfit App

For the next steps it is important to know whether you need an “Open Platform”
or a “Closed Platform”. An “Open Platform” is recommended, unless your
system is being used in a hospital or there is a need for patient/user
confidentiality.

Platforms.

The next steps will take you through downloading our SMARTfit app and
choosing the right activities and programs for you.

Download the SMARTfit App (iOS or Android phone or tablet)


1. Follow the instructions located on
the CPU Plate provided in the
Duffle Case option.

2. Or follow the instructions located


on the CPU Plate printed on the
Secure Case option.

3. Select the app store on your iOS
or Android device and
search “SMARTfit – seize the
now.” Download it to your device,
then open the SMARTfit app.
(The iOS view is shown. The
Android view differs slightly.)

4. Select “Create New Account”


located under the login button.

5. Create login credentials by


entering a name, username,
password, age, and gender.
Select the blue “Done” button to
continue.

6. Enter the username and password
of the user you just created.

7. Select the “Manage Connections”


tab.

8. Select the Bluetooth symbol at the


top right of the screen.

9. Select the 8-digit ID number


displayed on your CPU.

10. Wait 5 seconds, while Bluetooth
connects the CPU and SMARTfit
App.

Start a Game

1. Select the “Play” tab at the


bottom of the screen.

2. Select a game category from


the list provided under
“Categories.”

3. Customize the game settings,


then scroll down to select “Start
Game.”

Open and Closed Platforms

1. Open up the SMARTfit App,


type “Admin” under username
and “smart” under password.

2. Select the Super User Manager


Tab.

3. Select the Administrator
Settings tab.

4. The SMARTfit App will start with


the open platform activated.

5. To turn off the open system


platform, switch the open
system bar to the left.

6. Once complete, the setting will


instantly save. Your system is
now ready for play.

Play a Free Activity – A pre-designed game category played while performing a
specific action with custom game settings and equipment.
1. Select the “Play” tab at the
bottom of the screen

2. Select the “Free Activities” tab


at the top of the screen.

3. Select one of the folders to see


a secondary list of activities
based off the selected focus
area.

4. Select one of the activities based


on the player’s ability level. Level
1 activates an easier game
category and a lighter physical
intensity, while Level 3 activates
the most difficult game category
with a challenging physical
intensity.

5. If WIFI is connected, a video of
this activity will be activated. Scroll
down, then select the blue “Start
Game” tab.

6. The timeclock will begin after the


player strikes the first target.

Play a Free Program - A pre-designed custom sequence of activities used for a
specific focus area.
1. Select the “Play” tab at the bottom
of the screen

2. Select the “Free Programs” tab by


sliding the top option bar to the
right.

3. Select one of the programs,


provided by Gunnar Peterson,
based on the player’s ability level.
Level 1 activates an easier game
category with a lighter physical
intensity, while Level 3 activates a
more difficult game category with
and more challenging physical
intensity.
4. This screen will provide a brief
description, the game list, and the
equipment list for the selected
program. Select the blue Play tab
near the bottom of the screen
when ready to play.

5. If WIFI is connected, a video of
this activity in action will begin to
play.

6. The first activity on the game list


will activate. The game will begin
when the player strikes the first
target.

7. When the game is finished, the


app will send a notification of
completion, and the next game
activity will begin.

8. When all game activities are


completed, the app will send a
“Program Completed” notification.

Create an Activity – A list of game categories, created by the trainer, with
chosen game options and equipment to meet a focus area.
1. Select the “Play” tab at the
bottom of the screen.

2. Select a game category from


the list provided under
“Categories.”

3. Customize the game settings,


then scroll down to select “Create
Activity.”

4. Type in a name and a brief
description of how the game is
played.

5. Press the blue Done tab.

6. This option will ask for


permission for all managed
users to see this under the
Marked Activities tab when
signed into their personal
account (Managed users are
students, clients, patients,
members, or athletes).

7. If Yes is selected, the new
Activity will show up under the
Managing User Activity tab
when both the managed and
managing users are signed in
(Managed users are the
Patients, Members, Students,
Clients, and Athletes).
8. If No is selected, the new
Activity will show up under the
Managing Activity tab when the
managing users are signed in
(Managing users are the
Trainer, Coach, Teacher,
Owner, or Doctor Programs tab
9. This option will ask for
permission for managed users
to see this activity under their
account. (Managed users are
students, clients, patients,
members, or athletes).

10. If Yes is selected, the managing
user will chose which managed
user will see this program under
their personal account. The new
program will show up under the
Marked Programs tab when
either user is signed in.

Create a Program – A list of Activities, created by the (Trainer, Teacher, Doctor,
Coach, or Owner), that play in sequence to meet a focus area.
1. Select the “Build” tab at the
bottom of the screen.

2. Fill in: Name, Description, and


Number of program repetitions.
The number of program
repetitions is the number of
repetitions the program will play
after it has finished once.

3. Press the Blue “Next” tab to


continue.

4. Select the “blue + symbol” at the


top right of the screen.

5. Select the blank tab under the
“Choose Activity” text to select
from the activity list.

6. Select the blank tab under the


“How many times will this be
played?” text. This is the
number of repetitions this
activity will play before changing
to the next activity.

7. Select the “blue + symbol” at the


top of the screen to select
another activity.

8. Repeat the instructions above


until satisfied with the number of
activities in the new program.

9. Select the blue “Build” tab to


continue.

“Play: tab.

next game will get ready for

after the player strikes the first

Search and Export Data

1. Select the “Data” tab at the bottom


of the screen.

2. Select the small data list at the top


right of the screen.

3. Select the first blank tab, then


choose “category” or “activity” from
the data search options.

4. Select the second blank search
bar, then choose “is.”

5. Select the third blank search bar,


then choose the desired game
category or activity.

6. Once complete, click the blue


“View Statistics” tab at the bottom
left of the screen.

7. This graph will display the number


of attempts (x-line) and the points
scored (y-line) for the chosen
game category or activity.

8. Select the small graph list at the


top right of the screen.

9. This screen will show a list of the
game attempts, name of user,
date, time, and score.

10. Select the “Excel” icon at the top


right of the screen.

11. To print, email, save, or message


this excel sheet for later use,
select the “upload” icon at the top
right of the screen.

select the “Done” tab at the top left
of the screen.
