Dear Director,

Centre for Death penalty, NLU Delhi

I am writing to you today for the purpose of internship provided by the centre for death
penalty for the period of 01/12/2017 to 31/12/2017. I am currently a 4th year student in
Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University. I believe that I’m uniquely suited for
this internship because I have a wide range of experience in law firms which will help the
centre in its litigation work and through this I will get an opportunity to further expand my
litigation experience. I have always attained the highest levels of success in my studies. If
there’s one thing that I value when it comes to doing a job it’s bringing my best, which is
something that I believe by grades express. I am very interested in this field of work and i
have presented a paper title “Is rope an answer for crime” in the seminar on death penalty
conducted by RGNUL. Further i am currently studying “criminology” which deals with
crime, rights of criminal and covers the aspect of criminal justice administration and I would
like to intern not only to provide your centre with the help you need, but also to gain
experience and to take advantage of it as a learning experience. I have presented and
published few articles in various journals like my article “Political parties under RTI” was
published in legal messenger details of which are provided in my CV. I have also presented
an article “A step towards conservation of Natural Resources” in the environmental
seminar in HNLU, Raipur. These papers have helped me develop my research skills
doctrinally and now through this internship i would like to indulge myself in the field of
empirical study which will be very beneficial for my further prospect. My skills as a
researcher will help you immensely and with your help i will be able to broaden my horizon
as a researcher. I have attended various seminars and conferences and through the experience
I know the value of public discussion of legal aspects. I am a distinction holder in
Constitutional Law which is the very basis of death penalty and its legalisation and with my
knowledge of constitution I can help in research and litigation. I will help the centre in
various discussions and debate which will be held by them for discussing the intricacies of
criminal justice administration. I have a goal of studying the criminals and their rights which
will be achieved through this internship. I’ve been working hard my whole life to gain
opportunities like this, and I think that if you give me a chance then I’ll be able to bring
things to the tasks and jobs that you need to get done that nobody else can.

Thanking you,

Piyush Kumar Mishra
