DESIGN CRITERIA
FOR AIR CONDITIONING &
MECHANICAL VENTILATION
SYSTEM
Prepared By:
This report describes the proposed system and performance requirements for
Air Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation System Services
This proposed systems and design requirements in this report will be furthered
detailed and developed into detailed design drawings and technical
specifications at detailed design phase.
The mechanical and electrical installation will generally comply with local
Codes and regulations and relevant international standards. Details are given
below.
3. DESIGN CRITERIA
3.1. Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation Systems
Summer:
External : 38˚C dry bulb
29.5˚C wet bulb
Rainy:
External : 23˚C dry bulb
The air conditioning equipment capacity will be sized so that indoor dry bulb air
temperature can be controlled to 22 ±2˚C
Notes:
(1) The tolerance levels shown indicate the range of temperatures due to
controls system operation.
(2) No control of relative humidity levels will be included. The relative humidity
levels shown indicate the values adopted for the purpose of design and
selection of the cooling coils design conditions.
(3) With spot cooling for kitchen areas.
(4) Pressurization during fire mode (for enclose fire stairs) only
(5) Pressurization under the mode for the lift lobby
4. ACMV SYSTEM
4.1 Air-
Air-Conditioning System
The most applicable type of Aircon system is Multi-Split Air Conditioning System /
Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) / Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) OUTDOOR
UNITS with matching indoor Fan Coil Units (FCU’s) to serve the common area’s &
most of the entire rooms. See the attached sketches for reference.
The cooling load will be calculated during the Detailed Design Phase when all the
design criteria/parameters are established and details on the external façade and
roof construction are firmed up.
All toilets will be provided with individual mechanical exhaust system per room.
The exhausted air will be make-up by outside air migrating from the door louver
or open windows
