Re: Letter of protest on the election of Luzviminda G. Calzado

Dear Mr. Tamayo & Mrs. Castilla ,

This letter pertains to the elections held on March 18, 2017, at St. Jude Multi-Purpose
Cooperative. In the said elections, Luzviminda G. Calzado obtained enough votes to get a
seat at the Board of Directors. We, members of St. Jude Multi-Purpose Cooperative, would
like to protest her election on the ground of a grave or major offense.

Under our laws, specifically under Article 8, Section 1, grave or major offenses
include dishonesty. We would like to base our protest on the following circumstances:

1. Two years ago during our general assembly, she did not disclose the fact
that she was a board member of Hermana Fausta Multi-Purpose
Cooperative. It was only when the Chairman of the election committee
approached her that Mrs. Calzado disclosed that she was in fact a board
member of Hermana Fausta Multi-Purpose. Mrs. Calzado then called Ms.
Josie Parentela, Chairman of the Board of Hermana Fausta Multi-Purpose
Cooperative to tender her resignation as a member of the Board of
Directors of Hermana Fausta Multi-Purpose Cooperative. Because of this,
it can clearly be inferred that Mrs. Calzado acted in bad faith. If she was
not approached at all by the Chairman of the election committee of St.
Jude Multi-Purpose Cooperative, she would not have disclosed that at all,
in spite of the clear mandate of the laws of St. Jude Multi-Purpose
Cooperative that a nominee cannot be a holder of another position in
another cooperative.

2. She still ran in the March 18, 2017 elections, in spite of the fact that she is
the current treasurer of Hermana Fausta Multi-Purpose Cooperative. Proof
of her position can be found in the program booklet of the 4th Annual
 General Assembly of Hermana Fausta Multi-Purpose Cooperative. The
front page of the program booklet is hereto attached as Annex 1. The name
of Mrs. Calzado as treasurer can be found in Annex 2-A.

Because of the above circumstances, we would like to appeal to you to disqualify the
election of Mrs. Calzado as a member of the board of directors of St. Jude Multi-Purpose
Cooperative on the ground of dishonesty, which merits a grave or major offense. We,
members of the St. Jude Multi-Purpose Cooperative would like to have leaders with clear
integrity and good values to lead us.
