hen Scott and Sally Priest started their kitchen remodel and expansion they did
not expect that it would extend into other areas of their home. But when they
were so pleased with the kitchen it seemed important to move on to other areas and for the
Priests and Derek Mecham this remains an ongoing project. New cabinetry and travertine
floors were just the beginning. The next steps were elegant light fixtures and then touches of
stained glass to create unique detail. These features combined with bronzed ceiling moldings
finish the effect.
The project then moved to the entryway, which became newly defined by its elegant columns
and stone floor. This new space leads to the stately office library, which was once used as a
dining room, and the newly refurbished living room with its sweeping views of the valley.
The combination of architectural details with the upgrading of furnishings, carpet, and
accessories transform the space from the ordinary to a warm and personal yet well designed
living space for the family.

his elegant yet family functional traditional home combines many beautiful elements
of design. From the expansive entry with its marble and limestone floor to the
playroom with its international children theme, this house bridges the practical needs of an active
growing family with symmetry and classic design.
Almost too numerous to list, the qualities of this house combine family togetherness with the
nurturing of individual cultural and intellectual interests and pursuits. Surrounded by a lovely
lot, the house features a four car garage, music room, guest room, upstairs study, library, large
family kitchen and great room, as well as a large dance studio and ice cream parlor on the lower
level.
The selection of all elements from paint color to furnishings and accessories complemented the
overall purpose of the home. The owners were involved in all decisions and they had a very
specific interest in meeting a high level of quality and design. Their cooperation and participation
in the process gave the project a high level of satisfaction for all.

isit a neighborhood in West Bountiful with new homes and old trees. Home owner
and builder Ken Romney just completed a charming new family house based on
Robert McArthur’s most popular home plan.
An attractive old world brick exterior and flowing split level entry floor plan coalesce
flawlessly. The upper level presents a remarkable entertainment space. The living room has
tall vaulted ceilings with exposed beams. The kitchen features custom European cabinets with
a shaker style door. There are brightly painted cabinets scattered throughout the house. The
lower level was built with the foresight of possible needs for a mother-in-law apartment. The
lower level has ground level entry, and a kitchenette.
This 4,000 square foot home has plenty of room for family and friends to hang out!

his beautiful home was the last home to complete an Ivory Home subdivision. It
was a plan they were developing and was different from the basic plans available
at that time. The home owner at the time wanted to move from a condo to a house, but did
not want the work of maintaining a large house or yard. They also wanted some interesting
architecture using a small budget.
It is a true two story with an entry that showcases the stairway and sloping ceilings to add
architectural interest to the house. It is a “work in progress” from adding on large deck for
entertaining, reworking the very generic yard to a tree filled yard, to continuously adding
interior details to give it a custom look. Brent has also mixed furniture that came from his
grandparent’s home with cleaner, more modern furniture and accessories which gives his
home a simple yet inviting “lived in” feeling with a sense of personal family history.

uilt from limestone blocks this home invokes a feeling of historical craftsmanship.
The beautiful stone home abounds with curb appeal from the handcrafted front door,
weather vanes and eyebrow windows on the main home to the dormer windows on the
carriage house. The attention to detail only becomes more extensive as you enter the house.
Oversized beams, extensive moldings, wainscoting, niches and sheetrock cut-outs create an
intriguing dimensional experience. As you walk through this house stop to notice the ceiling
details and how the layers of architectural details line up from different view points.
Designed for empty nesters, this home is main floor living in which the living area spills
into the outdoors. The floor plan is informal and open. The living space is expansive yet
comfortable.
Home owners Larry and Janis DuPaix acted as general contractor. They would like to give a
special thanks to Robert McArthur, JB Izatt, MY Enterprises, Daren and Tod Peterson, Turner
Electric, United Stone Masonry, Colonial Building Supply and Dan Davis Painting.

r. and Mrs. Aguayo were excited to find a building lot across from a golf course.
Transplants from Las Vegas and golf enthusiasts, they love the flow of activity that
emanates from Eaglewood Golf Course.
Ben, who works in the design field, drew up initial floor plans. Megan Barth, plan designer for
Living Spaces, was enlisted to flesh out the Aguayo’s dream home. Holly Adamson Interiors,
helped with the final details of decorating.
Featured twice on HGTV network show “I Want That” for its use of unique materials, this
six-bedroom contemporary home has a gym, cinema, mother-in-law living area and fabulous
views. The dining room and study flank the entry in a unique, open manner. This area is
punctuated with twin waterfalls. Kitchen, master suite and gathering rooms are visually
delightful as well as supremely functional and comfortable.
The colors, textures and surfaces were deliberately chosen to create a warm and inviting
environment. The flow in and around these spaces allows life to proceed in a relaxing yet
efficient manner. Fine artwork and furnishings are displayed beautifully throughout the home.
Possessed of integral charm, this home gives contemporary styling a current and authentic
dimension.

his home started out as an excellent blank canvas. The most notable features are the
beautiful cherry cabinets and gorgeous walnut floors. Owner Lenna Carver especially
enjoys the functional floor plan, but she decided to personalize it and make into a home that
she could call her own. That is where Spencer Interior Design came in.
Beautiful crown molding was added throughout the main living areas. Glazed walls and paint
in the master bedroom show off the elegant headboard and furniture. A hand made green tile
in the kitchen really adds the color and charm to this home.
