3. SUPERSTRUCTURE OF THE VEHICLE

The crew of the vehicle: 1+2 (driver and two fire-fighters). The superstructure of the vehicle is
made of aluminium plates, closed by four shutters each that are equipped with a bar lock system.
It is placed on a subframe and attached to the underbody of the vehicle with elastic elements. The
superstructure of the vehicle is made of aluminium profiles connected to a stable constitution and
closed by Al plates. The superstructure is mounted on a subframe and attached to the underbody
of the vehicle with elastic elements. The superstructure is designed in such a way that torsion
resistance and the related deformation are as low as possible.
The two equipment rooms are closed by aluminium shutters to the left and to the right. The place
for equipment installation is closed by four (on the right side) and four (on the left side) high-
quality Al-shutters on the side of the superstructure. Shutters are made of hollow anodized
aluminium profiles, which are interconnected by joints. Individual profiles are connected with
elastic seals. The seals at the bottom edge and on side rails protect the equipment rooms from
dust and moisture. If any of the shutters is open, there is a warning displayed in the driver’s cab.
Shutters are equipped with a bar-lock latch locking mechanism. In order to facilitate access to the
equipment placed higher, there are foldaway stairs under each shutter (also for shutters above the
rear wheels).
The roof of the superstructure is walkable and covered with an anti-slip coating with elevated
edges on the left and right side. It can be accessed on the ladder by using the handles that allow
easier stepping over to the roof. Foldaway stairs for easy access to the equipment are covered
with anti-slip coating.
The equipment is installed in such a way that it is ergonomically reachable and quickly usable.
Bigger and heavier equipment should be positioned as low as possible. The mounting or fixing
points of the equipment in the superstructure are marked by appropriate graphic symbols or by
inscriptions in English language if symbols do not allow adequate logical designation. All
information and warning signs as well as short basic instructions for use of individual devices are
available in English language.
In the rear part of the superstructure there is a hydraulic load-carrying platform installed. It is
intended to lift or lower carriages with equipment. In the rear part of the superstructure there is a
longitudinal space envisaged for fixing the carriages during the drive.
