Materials:
 E/4 crochet hook (3.50mm)
 Yarn needle

Yarn (worsted weight)

 Skin Colour
 Dark Pink
 Gold

 Brown
 Light Pink
 Dark Blue

 Black (if you are embroidering the eyes. You could also use buttons or safety eyes)

 Polyester stuffing such as Polyfil.

Abbreviations:

ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
dec: decrease
inc: increase
mr: magic ring

Notes:

The parts will be worked in rows rather than a spiral, so don’t forget to do a sl st to close each row
and to chain one before you start the next row.

Occasionally, you will be asked to crochet counter clockwise for a row. This will make it so the
“right side” of the crochet switches sides.

When I switch the yarn in the last stitch of the row, I do this during the slip stitch. I insert my hook
into the loops, and pull in the new colour. I chain one and start the new row in the new colour.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Ball Joint & Upper Body – skin, gold, dark pink

Row 1: mr 6 with skin colour yarn (6)

Row 2: inc around (12)

Row 3: [sc, inc]* Repeat * around (18)

Row 4: sc around (18)

Row 5: [sc, dec]* Repeat * around (12)

Rows 10-12: sc all the way around. On the last stitch of Row 12, change colours from Dark Pink to
Gold. (18)

Legs (Make 2) – white, light pink, dark pink

Row 1: mr 5 with white yarn (5)

Row 2: sc 1, inc, sc 1, inc, sc 1 (7)

Row 3: sc around (7)

Row 4: sc around. (7)

Row 5: sc 1, inc, sc 1, inc, sc 1, inc, sc 1 (10)

Row 6: sc around (10)

Once you’ve finished the first leg and cut the yarn at a suitable location, repeat for the second leg.
After finishing the second leg, don’t cut the yarn off.

Row 7: Go through both loops of a sc on either side of the ending point and then both loops of a sc
on the other leg. Sc all 4 loops together. Sc around the legs as you would usually do, moving
clockwise from the join all the way around. There should be 18 sts that you will sc normally and
the join should count for 1 bringing you to a total of 19 sts. Change to Light Pink yarn on the last sc
of the row.

Row 8: sc around, ignoring the join (18). Do not cut off the yarn when you have closed this row.

You are going to be attaching the ball joint/upper body to the legs. Stuff the ball joint/ upper body
and the legs before you connect them together.

Row 9: Sc the two parts together going through one sc of the upper body and one sc of the legs
using the Light Pink yarn attached to the legs. (18)

Row 10: sc around counter clockwise for one row. (18)

Row 11: sc around clockwise. (18)

Continue row 13 until you reach the bottom of Zelda’s legs. Switch to Dark Pink on the last stitch of
that row.

Row 14: sc around. Switch to Light Pink on the last stitch of that row. (27)

Apron –dark blue, red, yellow

Row 1: ch 6 using dark blue yarn. Turn

Row 2-4: sc 5, ch 1 and turn. (5)

Row 5: dec, sc 1, dec, ch 1 and turn (3)

Row 6: sc 3 (3)

Row 7: dec and tie off.

Take a length of Red yarn and stitch around the edges of the apron to give it a thin red border.

Use Gold yarn to embroider a Triforce pattern in the middle of the apron.

Use Gold yarn to attach the apron to the gold belt of Zelda’s body. Attach the apron to the body at
the two outer corners of the apron.

Arms (Make 2) – white, skin, gold

Row 1: mr 6 with white yarn (6)

Row 9: sc 6. DO NOT join with sl st at the end of the row. The rest of the arm you will not sl st
together. Ch1 and turn. (6)

Bind off and sew each arm to body.

Shoes (Make 2) - brown

Shoe tops

Row 1: ch 10. Sl st to connect the loop on your hook and the first ch you made with Brown yarn.

Shoe soles

Row 1: ch 4 with Brown yarn.

Row 2: Skipping the ch closest to but not on the hook, sc into the next chain on the left side of the v
made. Sc into the next chain on the left side. You should be left with a single chain at this point.
Sc twice into the left side of the chain and then once into the right side. Moving towards your
starting point, sc into the next chain on the right side and then the last chain twice. Sl st to close
row. (8)

Row 3: inc around. Sl st to close row. (16)

Attaching the top and sole

Go through both loops of an sc on the wider end of the shoe top and both loops of an sc on the
sole. Sc these together and repeat all the way around. Do the same on the other shoe.

Head - skin

Row 1: sc 8 into magic ring using Skin yarn. (8)

Row 2: inc around (16)

The rows you made so far will actually be on the inside of the head and function as a place for the
body joint to go into, making the head pivotable.

At this point you should stuff the head and place eyes if you’re going to do safety or button eyes.

Hair- yellow

Row 1: sc 6 into magic ring with Yellow. (6)

Row 5: Using sc, attach to the head in yellow yarn.

Row 6 : Choose a point where you want Zelda’s hair to start on the side of her head and sc around
to the point where you think it should stop on the other side (I went a little more than halfway
around the head, roughly lining it up where her shoulders are). Ch 2 and turn.

Row 7: dc across the row. Ch2 and turn.

Continue row 7 until her hair is just above her shoulders (it should completely cover the back of her
head).

Row 8: dec, dc across until the last two stitches, dec.

Front hair pieces

Attach yellow yarn to the top hair piece at the sides of the face, allowing enough space to place the
ears later.

Chain 11. Sc all the way back up the ch. (10)

Do this again for the other side of her head.

Crown - gold

This was stitched onto the head and hair using Gold thread.

It should start and end at the either edge of the main hair piece.

Ears (Make 2) - skin

Sc 5 into magic ring using Skin yarn and arrange in half-circle shape. Attach to side of head
between the main hair piece and the long front hair pieces.
