shall be more populated than Jaipur would be Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad,
Pune and Kanpur.
 Economy
The state and the city witnesses substantial focus on tourism, manufacturing,
exports and education industries. A variety of traditional as well as non-traditional
items are exported from Rajasthan. These include precious and semiprecious
stones, jewellery, ready-made garments, carpets, handicrafts, leather goods,
chemicals, minerals, marbles, granite, engineering products etc. Jaipur's proximity to
the National Capital Region is one of its biggest advantages. The nearby markets of
Gujarat and Delhi have been both complementing and competing forces. The
completion of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) will further strengthen
Jaipur's development as a regional economic hub.

 Sex Ration
There is no direct link between the sex ratio in Rajasthan and the overall growth and
development of the state. The present sex ratio with 926 females for 1000 males is
comparatively less than the other states like Karnataka and Kerala in India. As per the latest
value, there are only ten districts in the state of Rajasthan where the sex ratio crosses 900.
Actually, the sex ratio in Rajasthan has been considerably decreased in the last twenty years
raising a serious alarm for the government and agencies.

 Literacy

The present literacy rate of Rajasthan stands at 67.1 percent which is less when
compared to the overall literacy rate of the country which holds the value of 74
percent. Government is doing its best to increase the literacy rate of Rajasthan
as it was considerably low in the last twenty years.
What is a Survey?

Surveys are a method of gathering information from individuals. Surveys have a

variety of purposes, and can be conducted in many ways. Surveys may be
conducted to gather information through a printed questionnaire, over the telephone,
by mail, in person, by diskette, or on the web. This information is collected through
use of standardized procedures so that every participant is asked the same
questions in the same way. It involves asking people for information in some
structured format. Depending on what is being analyzed, the participants being
surveyed may be representing themselves, their employer, or some organization to
which they belong.

Here are the three specific techniques of survey research:

 Questionnaires - a series of written questions a participant answers. This

method gathers responses to questions that are essay or
agree/neutral/disagree style.
 Interviews - questions posed to an individual to obtain information about him
or her. This type of survey is like a job interview, with one person asking
another a load of questions.
 Surveys - brief interviews and discussions with individuals about a specific
topic. Yes, survey is also a specific type of survey, to make things even more
confusing. A survey is a quick interview, with the surveyor asking only a few
questions.
