Second Officer's Inventory Control / Handover Form for Bridge Equipment & Publications
Inventory Guideline 1. This inventory / Handover form shall initially be filled by the second officer and
a copy sent to H/O.
2. Thereafter it is to be refilled (on the same sheet) at intervals as decided by th
Master kept on board for record. A copy is to be given to the master every tim
it is refilled. This interval shall not exceed 3 month.
3. The record copy shall be available on board for inspection by the company
superintendents port state control officials & oil-major inspectors at short notic
Hanover instruction 4. When a new second officer joint the ship, the handover is to be continued on
the same form. The in-coming second officer shall, after taking over, send
a completed copy his comments to H/O. He shall then start on a new form
with proper C/F (carry forward) entries.
5. After taking over, if the in-coming second officers finds major discrepancies, h
should immediately bring them to the attention of the master and report the sa
(through master) to H/O in writing.
6. If for any reason, the out-going second officer is unable to handover to the in-
comming second officer, he should then complete this form and handover to
the master.
