Finding Your Assessment:
After logging into OnTrack:
1. Go to Assessments
2. If you are taking a PLC assessment, go to the “school” tab. If you have taking your own assessment, make
sure you are on “my assessments” tab. If giving a district assessment (HSCA, DLA, Pre-Approved Assessment),
use the “district” tab.
3. You can search the name of your test in the search box.
5. Here are important icons for you to know for your assessment.
5. Find the class period you would like to release. Click “Refresh”.
6. To activate the assessment, click on the box to the left in the green area above all the students, which will select
all students in that period. Uncheck the boxes of students who are absent.
7. Click “activate” or “activate with PIN”. If you activated with a PIN, a 4-digit PIN will be given for all students
selected. Students must enter that PIN to start testing. Give this PIN to your students on the board for them to
enter.
8. You can activate each period ahead of time, and give them their PIN when you’re ready for them to start testing.
The PIN can be seen on the online administration page next to your students’ names and will remain there, so you
can always go back and find the PIN again.
9. As students are testing, you can see their status as they move through the assessment.
Inactive = you did not activate the assessment for the student
Active = assessment has been activated and students can log in through their OnTrack account
Incomplete/Exited = Students did not finish the assessment or did not submit their assessment
In Process = Students are working through their assessment
Completed = Students have submitted their assessment and you can see their scores in Reports

okay/open. If they do not click this, they WILL NOT be able to get into the test.
6. Students should work through the assessment.
7. They have certain tools available on the top right-hand side of the screen to use.
8. When they are finished, they must “SUBMIT” their assessment. They cannot just close their computer.
Troubleshooting Issues:
1. If the assessment does not open, try minimizing the window and the test may be behind the screen.
OR
2. The students may not have downloaded the lockdown browser.
They must go to software center, download the “Respondus Lockdown Browser” and install it.
3. If students “exited” the assessment but did not “submit” the assessment:
In the online administration, select that student’s name. Click “submit scores”.
4. If students get kicked off the WIFI or it freezes, click on that student’s name and click “stop” test.
They can get out of the system and restart their computer.
Select that student’s name and then “reactivate” or “reactivate with PIN”. Their work will have been saved and they
can continue working on their assessment.
