The Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) is related to safety and health of every person

working on worksite or in office, and OSHA connect the bridge between the worksite and safety
of the employees working there.
The authority of Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) is to make sure every human being is safe
and healthy in the environment which they are working, preserve human resources for the nation
and to reduce the hazards on the worksite.
It invites sites to apply on the bases of OSHA criteria and then it verifies and evaluates the
application by the health and safety experts. They approves qualified on one of the 3 programs
Star-On bases of employees or employee who shows extraordinary achievement in health and
safety and also continuous improvement.
Merit- Employees who are mandatory to take few steps to reach star quality
Demonstration- Employees who follow safety and health procedure that differ from OSHA have
to demonstrate their program to OSHA.
It came into existence on 1982 when OSHA approved its first site.

It helped in reducing the injuries and illness risk below 52% and increase safety and health to the
worksite. Due to that it also benefits the employees and employes increase in more production
and profit.
