Winter Concert
On December 8th, the Mark
Keppel Aztec Band and Orchestra
performed in their yearly Winter
Concert. The band played “We
Need a Little Christmas,”
followed by their field show
music, Fantasmic! This was
accompanied by a slideshow
filled with memories from the
past semester that the band
historians had laboriously put
together, including photos from football games, field show competitions, and parades.

Marching Through the Halls

The Aztec Band took part in their annual marching through the halls of Mark Keppel High School
on the last day of school before winter break, bringing the holiday spirit along with them as
they played “We Need a Little Christmas.” Several teachers along the hallways opened their
doors while the band marched by, pausing class-time for a minute to allow their students to
appreciate the festive music. It was a cheerful event for members of the Aztec Band and the
rest of the students and staff at the high school.

Christmas Ensemble
Over winter break, a small ensemble of
musicians from the Aztec Band performed
Christmas songs such as “Jingle Bells” and
“We Wish You a Merry Christmas” for
residents at the Brookdale and Huntington
Memory Care Community convalescent
homes. It was rewarding for them to
watch the senior citizens smile widely with
joy as the students played music for them.
After their performance, the students
shook hands with the residents and
wished them a merry Christmas, which
the residents really seemed to enjoy.
