Police Reports
The Perryville Police
Department has released its
latest report of arrests and
incidents.
■■Shane L. Wilson, 38,
of Perryville was arrested
Tuesday, December 20 on
a Perryville warrant for
speeding.
■■A Perryville resident
reported her legally parked
vehicle was hit by another
vehicle while she was sit-
ting in it, and the other
vehicle left the scene. The
incident happened about 7
p.m. Wednesday, December
14 on North Main Street.
■■Two Perryville resi-
dents reported being the
victims of identity theft on
Tuesday, December 20.
■■The Perryville Police
was dispatched to Mt. Hope
Cemetery on a report of
vandalism to a family head-
stone.
Police are also reporting
two other recent arrests:
■■Theresa Ann Clopton,
49, of St. Louis was ar-
rested Thursday, December
29, 2016 on a Perry County
warrant. Police say the ar-
rest came during an inves-
tigation of a leaving the

Perryville man faces child abuse charges
The Perryville Police
Department is reporting the
arrest of a 28-year old Per-
ryville man after the report
of possible abuse to a 23-
month old child.
Donnie Wayne Roberts,
Jr. was arrested by Per-
ryville Police on Decem-
ber 29, 2016. He is charged
with first-degree domestic
assault and two counts of
abuse of a child.
According to a probable
cause statement drafted
by Lieutenant Jon Lanier
of the Perryville Police
Department, Roberts was
watching the child while
her mother was at work and
the child was injured.
Roberts then drove the
child to her mother’s place
of employment, stating
that the child “fell through
a door and hit a concrete
floor” and needed to seek
medical care.
The mother then took the
child to the Perry County
Hospital emergency room
where she was then flown
by helicopter to Cardinal
Glennon Hospital. The
child’s injuries included a
lacerated liver, bruised pan-
creas, subdural hematoma
and retinal hemorrhaging in
both eyes.
During questioning Rob-
erts admitted to police he
had gotten a little rough
while playing with the
child, throwing her on the
couch.
Two local men charged with forgery
Two Perryville men are
charged with forgery fol-
lowing the report of a sto-
len check that was cashed
at Regions Bank in Per-
ryville.
Hunter Lane, 17 is
charged with forgery stem-
ming from cashing an al-
tered check and Nathan
Slacer, 25, is charged with
forgery and misdemeanor
possession of a controlled
substance.
Slacer’s sister reported
the theft of a check from
her checkbook on Decem-
ber 8, 2016. She stated her
brother and Lane were at
her residence the previous
day.
According to a prob-
able cause statement made
by Police Officer Chris-
topher Bradford. Slacer’s
sister said that Lane stole
the check on December 6
and made it out to himself,
then Slacer forged his sis-
ters name on the check.
The amount of the
check was for $130 and
Nathan Slacer stated that
Lane provided him with
7.5 grams of marijuana
from an unnamed drug
dealer for $110 and $20
interest.
Lane then cashed the
check at Regions Bank,
knowing the check was al-
tered. Slacer said the check
was never supposed to be
cashed and that he gave it
to Lane as collateral.
