PROCEDURE FOR MAINTENANCE

1. Take the permit for work.

2. Ensure that the both bus section are de-energised. Ensure

isolation is given by authirised person.

Open the busbar chambers covers & check all busbar joints for
3. tightness. Check all joints for any hotspots. Check the space Halfyearly
heaters.

4 Check the control bus (both AC & DC) for tightness. Inspect for Halfyearly
any abnormality on control bus.

5 Check the insulators for cracks, burns or other damages. Halfyearly

6 Check all control cable termination at various points for proper Halfyearly
termination and tightness.

7 Inspect all wires for wear & cuts. Replace if necessary. Halfyearly

8 Check the tightness of all outgoing power cable & inspect for Halfyearly
any burning marks or mechanical damages.

9 Check the bus compartment, cable compartment & all breaker Halfyearly
compartments thoroughly with vacuum cleaner.

10 Check for the vermin proofing of the panels. Halfyearly

11 Inspect all the relays in Incomers & Bus coupler. Halfyearly

12. Measure insulation resistance between each phase to earth & Halfyearly
between each phase.

13. Check contact resistance end to end for all the Phases of the bus Halfyearly
bar using DC current injection. Milivolt Drop test for the busbar
to be carried out.

14. Ensure no tools or loose materials are left inside the chambers. Halfyearly

15. Ensure proper refitting & tightening of bus covers after complete Halfyearly
of the work.

16. Check the panel heaters for functioning. Halfyearly

17. Cancel the permit.

18. Observations of the above schedule are recorded in service

sheets & PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE register.
