Narrative of Discussions:

The meeting was called by the facilitator of the month to discuss a topic

which proved to be a least mastered skill in Math 3. Based on the result of the

formative tests conducted, pupils were having a hard time writing numbers in

symbols and in words. They either add or omit a zero in writing in symbols and

misspell the numbers when writing them in words.

The teachers in grade three decided to come up with an intervention to

help pupils in this topic. They suggested that there should be a set of rules in

writing numbers in symbols and in words.

When writing in symbols, pupils must first understand the value of a digit

before writing the number as a whole. This will reduce the errors of omitting or

adding zeroes in the number. The pupils then write the digits in their proper

place value. If there are vacant place values, it means that they should write

zero in it.

When writing in words, pupils must be familiar with the proper spelling of

the numbers in words. As long as they know how to read the numbers, it should

be easy for them to write them in words.

The principal, Mr. Ronaldo B. Lara the parents, pupils as well as the

teachers agreed that these rules would help pupils in writing numbers in symbols

and in words.
Conclusions:

The group concluded that the above rules would help pupils in writing

numbers up to 10 000 in symbols and in words.

Recommendations:

Pupils must follow these rules to be able to write numbers in symbols and in

words correctly.
