Lesson idea implementation: The video provided by BrainPop will be used to introduce the importance of
being safe from the sun. After, a group discussion will take place discussing the different places one might
expect to get sun burn. The class will then discuss different ways to protect themselves from sun burn.

After students have discussed ways to prevent sun burn, they will then be divided into groups. In their
groups, they will take the quiz provided by BrainPop. They will be shown a question and be given a minute to
discuss and answer. After the answers are revealed, students will write on a piece of paper: One way to
protect themselves from the sun and one place they might get sun burnt.

Reflective Practice: This lesson is used to introduce students about personal health. Students will get the
chance to think about different locations where they might need to use sun protection practices. The next
lesson will begin with a review and be linked to being safe around water.
