NOTICE INVITING QUOTATION

NOTICE INVITING QUOTATION NO :-04/K of 2017-18 OF THE ASSISTANT

ENGINEER,KAKDWIP SUB-DIVISION, P.W.D.

Sealed quotations are hereby invited from resourceful, Bonafide, experienced, surveying and
Consulting Engineering Firm having requisite experience for taking up similar nature of jobs as
detailed below:

1. NAME OF WORK. 1) Preparation of Project for the Proposed work “Widening

& Strengthening of Purba bishnupur –Lakshamikantapur-
Kulpi road from 8.00kmp to 16.60kmp.

2. Time of completion 20 (Twenty) days from the date of issue of Work Order.

3. Last date and time limit for 02.01.2017 upto 2:00 P.M. (Application submitted along
application with valid PAN card, up-to-date Trade License (2017-18),
up-to-date P.Tax. Challan, Credentials amounting
minimum 40% for Similar Nature of Work).

4. Last date and time limit for 03.01.2018 up-to 2:00 P.M

5. Last date of receiving : 05.01.2018 upto 2-00 P.M. in the tender box kept in the
Quotation chamber of Executive Engineer, Diamond Harbour Sub-
Division, P.W.D., Dist. South 24-Parganas. The quotation
will be opened on the same day in presence of all
participants or their representative after 3.00 P.M. at the
above mentioned office address.

CONDITION :
1) Rate should be quoted for the work as mentioned above on per Km. basis, considering the
work as mentioned in Technical Specification. (Annexure-I)

2) Intending quotationers shall have to quote their rate in words and figures distinctly in the
enclosed Price Schedule considering of all incidental charges, taxes and duties, if any.

3) The quotationers before quoting their rate should acquaint themselves with the site condition.

4) No extra claims will be entertained on the ground of site condition or any other reasons.

5) The work is to be completed within the stipulated time.

6) All quotationers would have to submit Earnest Money @ 2.0% of the quoted amount at the
time of dropping of sealed quotations in the shape of Bank Draft from any authorized Bank
in favour of the “Executive Engineer, Diamond Harbour Division, P.W.D”.

7. As per Labour Department’s Notification No. 1182-IR dtd. 20.09.05, 1% (one percent) cess of
construction work shall be deducted from the bill of Contractor and be remitted to the “West
Bengal Building and other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board”.

8) The Power of acceptance of quotation will rest with the Assistant Engineer, Kakdwip Sub-
Division, and P.W.D, who does not bind himself, to accept any quotation or reject all the
quotations without assigning any reason thereof.

 ANNEXURE-I

SCOPE OF WORK FOR PREPARATION OF DPR OF

1) Preparation of Project for the Proposed work “Widening & Strengthening of Road from
Saptamukhi Seta(Gangadharpur Bridge) to Bhaglatpur,via Patharpratima. 15.48.00Km. in the
Dist. of South 24 Parganas during 2017-2018 .”

2) Preparation of Project for the proposed work “Widening & Strengthening of Road from
Kamarhat to Ramratanpur F.P.School (Kakdwip ONGC Road) -5.100 Km . in the Dist. of South 24
Parganas during 2017-2018 ..

1. SCOPE OF SERVICES

(i) Conducting topographic survey using Total Stations and soil investigations on the proposed
alignment for collecting information necessary for designing proposed roads.

(ii) Identifying sources of construction material, conducting a detailed soil and material survey
for the purpose of pavement design and for ascertaining the location, availability and suitability
of road construction material.

(iii) Designing cross drainage, pavement, slope and embankment protection works.

2. The various activities involved in the preparation of DPR for the road are as under

i. Topographical Survey:
The topographical survey is to be carried out with total station survey instrument. A line of
levels is run along the center line and cross-sections are to be taken.

ii.Inventory and Condition Survey:

Inventory and condition survey report for the pavement and cross-drainage structures is
required.
iii. Soil Survey:
Samples of local soils are to be collected at 1 km interval and tests like grain-size analysis,
moisture density relationship and CBR are to be carried out immediately in parallel with the
Engineering survey. Requirements of CBR for sub-grade shall be as per clause 5 of IRC:37-
2012. Submit the report along with photographs on the existing carriageway portion. The test
pit for checking the existing pavements should be dug at least one for each km. length.

iv. Material Survey:

The source of materials for forming the embankment, pavement layers and protective structures
are to be identified and their leads established.

v. Traffic Estimation:
On existing roads traffic survey is to be done. Futuristic assessment are to made considering the
population of adjoining villages / towns used market place, school, hospital etc.Traffic study shall be as
per clause 4 of IRC:37-2012.

 vi. Socio- Economic Activities. :-
Number of village connected, population of the village benefited, Number of marketing center
connected, other activities Rly. Stn.Hospital, School, collages, H.C. Highway.
vii. Pavement Design :
Considering the soil strength, traffic and design life, pavement thickness for the existing and / or new
proposed pavement is to be determined within the guideline of IRC: 37-2012. Additionally, any major
repairs to the existing structures are to be designed /recommended. Design period should be at least 15
years as per IRC: 37-2012 for State highways.

viii. Preparation of Road Drawings:

Alignment Plans, Longitudinal sections and Cross-sections are to be prepared. Plan and profile drawing
is required in the DPR to indicate that there are deficiencies in geometrics of the existing road.

ix. Selection of Specifications:

The specifications for various items of work are to be selected as per clause 7 of IRC:37-2012, keeping
in view to the requirements of PWD & availability of material.

x. Estimation of Quantities:
Detailed quantities of each item of work are to be of items of work worked out and Bill of Quantities
(BOQ) along with the specifications for inviting tenders are to be prepared and to be submitted as
required for inviting tenders.

xii. Analysis of Rates:

The rate for each Item of BOQ is to be analyzed.

xii. Estimate:
The estimated cost for the road is to be worked out for Widening & Strengthening & overlay of the
existing carriageway with a proposal of 0.750 M wide hard shoulder on either edge as per guideline of
MORTH.

xiv. Costing:
DPRconsultant should be evaluated total project cost including cost of civil works, quality assurance,
utility shifting, project management, contingencies, etc.

A draft copy of the report has to be submitted first to the Executive Engineer, Diamond Harbour
Division, P.W.D. and after getting approval in corporation the corrections and modifications if any, the
final printout of the report in 6 (six) copies along with the soft copy of the report and power point
presentation of project has to be submitted.

3. The DPR shall be submitted in two volumes

Volume I : Report and Estimation in A4 size.

Volume II : Drawings in A3 size.
