From the given IP plan we can see that we have three channels.
I. OM channel for the site to be visible in the M2000 for operation and
maintenance purposes
II. 2G traffic channel for carrying 2G voice and data traffic
III. 3 G traffic channel for carrying 3G voice and data traffic
In each of the traffic and OM channel we have two columns of IP. One is the
physical IP address and the other is the gateway IP address. We also have a
column for vlan of each channel.
We also have the numbers /26 for traffic channel and /27 for OM channel given in
the table. These are the number of ones in the subnet masks of those channels.
When converted to decimal /26 is 255.255.255.192 and /27 is 255.255.255.224.
To start our test for any channel we have to set our computer so that it has
the physical IP address of the channel we want to test.
The following is the step by step illustration on how to do it.
Click on the Local Area Network icon from the quick launch to get a
window as shown in the screen shot below
Step 2:
Opening the ping tool, setting the source IP, Destination IP and Vlan
in the ping tool
Open the ping tool folder and double click on PingToolsv1.8 file as
shown in the first screen shot of the ping tool on the second page of
