HOUSING
As per the provision of MHAD Act 1976, section-28 it is the statutory duty of
MHADA to construct and make available houses to the dis-housed and needy persons of
the society at affordable rates. Housing or shelter is considered to be the third essential
need of the human being. Thus the construction of houses under different categories in
respect to the income limits is the fundamental duty of the MHADA.
II/- Besides, the above work, the jurisdiction of MHADA in field of the shelter
extended to the large scale such as developments of the plots by providing infrastructure
such as roads, water supply, drainage arrangement, electrification and other social
facilities like commercial complex, clinics, Samaj Mandir hall, Balwadi, etc.
III/- MHADA also considered to be appointed as a "Special Planning Authority" to
develop new township and other relevant developments as per the requirement of
Government of Maharashtra as an agency of the Government.
The MHADA has appointed "SPA" at Chandrapur, Solapur, and Dharavi in
Mumbai. In order to implement the said schemes effectively the MHADA borrows the
loan from various financial Institutions such as HUDCO, LIC, GIS, NHB, Government
etc. Besides that MHADA utilized its own fund in some schemes and also promote
beneficiaries, to make advanced contribution for execution of schemes.
Different housing schemes are being implemented through MHADA, which are as
under:
1) Urban Housing
2) Development of Urban Infrastructure
3) Monitoring
4) Special Repair to the rental tenements/Current repairs to the rental tenements.
5) Special planning Authority.
6) Land Acquisition for housing scheme under MHAD Act 41 & 52.
7) Improvement of infrastructure in MHAD colonies (I.I.C.).
All the above Schemes are implemented through Regional Boards of MHADA
Board wise achievements since inspection up to March 2011, Year wise and
category wise achievements, achievements during the year 2010-2011 and proposed Board
wise and category wise targets for the year 2011 -2012 are shown in the statement attached
.
INFORMATION ABOUT HUDCO LOAN
MHADA implements housing schemes for various categories according to income
criteria of the people. For implementing the schemes MHADA used to take loan from
various Financial Institutions. The conditions for loan are given below.
