Instructions: To contribute to the goal of preparing reflective practitioners, Student Teachers will write an Action Plan at the end of their First,
Second and Third Field Experience with input from their Co-operating Teacher and/or Field Supervisor. The Action Plan synthesizes each Field
Experience’s evaluation, links each Field Experience to the next, establishes goals for improvement and forms an agenda for discussion between
the Student Teacher, Co-operating Teacher and Field Supervisor at the beginning of the subsequent Field Experience. For Field Experience 1 only
(excluding Physical Education students), the Action Plan will be completed during the co-requisite Professional Seminar course.

I have shown ‘Thorough’ to ‘Advanced’ development in the following Professional Competencies developed during this Field Experience:
See attached for descriptions and detailed development.!
Competency 1: To act as a professional inheritor, critic and interpreter of knowledge or culture when teaching students!
Competency 4: To pilot/learning situations that are appropriate to the students concerned and to the subject content with a view to developing the
competencies targeted in the programs of study!
Competency 9: To cooperate with school staff, parents, partners in educational objectives of the school.!
Competency 10: To cooperate with members of the teaching team in carrying out tasks involving the development and evaluation of the competencies
targeted in the programs of study, taking into account the students concerned.!
Competency 11: To engage in professional development individually and with others.!
Competency 12: To demonstrate ethical and responsible professional behavior in the performance of his or her duties

I would like to improve my skills in the following Professional Competencies developed during this Field Experience:
For competency 1, I would like to incorporate using my own culture and cultural understandings as a starting point for connecting the views expressed by
students and in the classroom, as well as outside of the classroom setting in watching students' interactions with one another and with other
professionals. I would also like to better understand the connection between students' culture and the proposed methodology in the classroom, as well as
students culture and its effect on the school and their day to day activities within the school community!!

I would like to improve in competency 4, in the development of lesson plans and creating content which student can enjoy and become engaged with. I
would like to further developed my understanding of learning disabilities and of exceptionalities in the classrooms, and to begin developing my lessons in
order to be inclusive to all types of learners and exceptionalities.!

For competency 9, I would liek to have the oppurtunity to have collaborate with school staff in projects and educational services, such as resource
programs, after school clubs, tutoring, and mentoring, and supervision of activities, under the regulations and responsibility of the school.

I will make use of the following strategies for improvement:


I will be using careful observation of the topics and knowledge being taught within the classroom and the importance of creating links that will make for
better understanding by the students and for their learning. I will be able to experience teaching in real life situations where, as compared to theory, not all
learners will be the same or fit the exact code they have been assigned. By doing so, I will experience first hand cases in teaching where lessons must be
adapted to fit all students in order to ensure success. I can be able to attend and provide suggestions at meetings which address issues which may arise
in the school environment such as discrimination, mental health, and racism. I can collaborate and provided my ideas and suggestions with a group of
educators to tackle these issues. I can assist in daily tutorial sessions and after school programs with students and my CT, while keeping a professional
space as an aid and student teacher and not as a permanent qualified educator.!
