Hawaii Cycling Club Constitution

ARTICLE I.
Name: The name of the organization will be Hawaii Cycling Club,
referred to hereafter as HCC.

ARTICLE II.
Purpose: Purpose of the organization is to provide opportunities,
promotion and education for all levels of cycling by:

• Education of cyclists in the different areas of the sport


• Encouragement / support for recreational and competitive cycling
activities
• Promotion and practice of safe cycling techniques
• To encourage and publicize the use of bicycles for recreation,
healthier lifestyle, means of transportation and as a participatory
and spectator sport
• To advocate for favorable legislation and facilities which enhance
the safety and employment of the bicycle as a transportation and
recreational vehicle
• To provide a social group in which individuals interested in all
aspects of bicycling may participate
• To promote honest and fair sportsmanship
• To organize and sponsor bicycling activities
• To work harmoniously with other organizations on enhancing our
communities

ARTICLE III.
Membership:

Section 1. Membership is open to all who share an interest in the


various purposes of the HCC.

Section 2. Types of memberships available:


- One Day
- Annual / Biennial beginning in 2016
Section 3. Parent or Guardian's signature necessary for approval of
membership for those under age 18.
Section 4. Waiver of club liability shall be signed by all members on a
yearly basis to reflect the current calendar year. Membership will not
be allowed without this yearly and current waiver. Beginning in 2016
this waiver will be implemented with a two-year membership/waiver
cycle.

ARTICLE IV.
Dues
One-day memberships are $5. For 2015, an annual membership will be
$20, except for active high school triathlon and high school cycling
club members, who will have free membership upon receipt of
parental waiver. Beginning in 2016, membership will be on a two-year
basis, at a cost of $80 which includes an HCC cycling jersey that will
be produced once during every two-year cycle beginning in 2016, with
the same exception for high school triathlon and cycling club
members whose membership would not include an HCC jersey but
who may purchase a club jersey at cost.

ARTICLE V.
Meetings
Regular and special meetings are provided for in the HCC Bylaws.

ARTICLE Vl.
Officers
The election of Officers shall be held as described in the HCC Bylaws.

ARTICLE VII.
Board Members
The Board shall be composed of elected Officers and current Board
members. The Officers shall have immediate charge, management,
and control of the club between meetings.

ARTICLE VIII.
Committees
Committees are provided for in the HCC Bylaws.

ARTICLE IX.
Amendment
The Constitution may be amended in any respect by an affirmative
vote of 51% majority of the Board members by electronic vote. Club
members are to be informed of the proposed changes at least 14 days
prior to voting on amendments.
