LESSON PLAN

Grade: 8th Grade
Lesson: Past Simple Tense
Information about the class: (age, grade, year of study)
There are 17 learners in the class. They are 14 years old. They have a 2-hour lesson
every week. We do not use a course book so I decided to bring my own material.
Main aim:
By the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to express things in the Past Simple
Subsidiary aim:
To practice speaking referring to actions in the past.
Personal aim:
To reduce TTT (teacher talking time) in whole class activities and provide more
learner interaction.

Materials:

Assumptions:
Learners will know most of the vocabulary and they will remember some things about
Past Tense.
Anticipated difficulties with tasks:
Learners will not be able to understand the whole video and to see it’s relation with
the Past Simple tense.
Solutions: I will give them a transcript and I will help them to translate it. After, I will
ask them to underline the verbs which are used in the Past Simple.
